AC filter (the one above the battery)

Hi, can someone find the part number for this filter?

The dealer wanted 65 for it and I thought i read here that it was like a 15 dollar part.

Here is the part number of the dust filter that I replaced in my C240. It only cost me about $19. Took about 2 minutes to change - if that.

does the dealer change the dust filter often or not? if they don't i guess i'll go buy one and change it... i figure the a/c would be cleaner

The dealer told me to check/change the dust filter every 10000 miles or so. But, I dont think they really look at it unless you request it. I had changed mine at about 12000 miles and when I had my Service B done at 24000 miles - I had them look at it and they said it did not needed to be changed. I will probably change it here soon. I am not sure if it is a warranty item, if you request it looked at. Thats why I just change it myself - for $20 and 2 minutes of my time - it is worth doing.

Dust filter replacement on warranty service

Heating and Ventilation, replace dust filter, is item 8381 in the detailed service instruction for a B service.
Does every dealer do it? I don't know.
