Anyone ever needed an alignment?
I hit a curb and I think it knocked the alignment off pretty badly. Has anyone ever gotten an alignment, I was told by the dealer it would cost from $150-$300. Thats a bit exorbitant for such a minor mistake. Should I just kiss the cash good bye.
BTW, I have a 2002 C240, received it in April and only has 6000 miles on it

Well something tells me since I caused it, by hitting the curb, I'll be pinned with the charge. Unless I can get out of it somehow.

prices for RWD cars are higher because they do 4 wheel alignments. just had to throw that in, in case that wasnt something you thought about.. i had my wheels aligned done while i got my car lowered, 150-300 sounds about right, maybe not so high as 300 maybe towards the lower end... just my experience. better to get alignment and have a "correct" alignment then to drive and wear your tires unevenly and who knows it's a lil hazardous too..

I had the dealer check my alignment, when I took the car in to have them replace my front speakers. All they do is check the tire wear and visually check to see if you will need it. At least, that is what my service adviser told me. They said everything looked fine. I am not sure if it is a covered warranty item - they did perform a wheel alignment before I took delivery of my car. I am not sure if that is a MB policy or just something the dealer here in Tucson does.

Alignments in the northern virginia area generally run about
$90. Yes this is for a four wheel alignment. Mercedes should only be done as a four wheel alignment. If anyone tries to tell you otherwise, dont do it.
And yes, in the first 12/12 of the warranty amost everything is free to you expect tires or damaged wheels and what nots.

hey thanks for the advice, I'm going to take it in later this week and conveniently forget to tell them about hitting a curb. hopefully there is no charge but if there is it'll teach me a lesson....

My car came with the steering wheel at 12:02 so it needed an alignment to straighten it...yes, you don't just loosen a bolt and make it straight. It would have cost $90 if it wasn't on warranty or I caused it. The alignment is done with a system that gives you a print out of the alignment specs before and after. The tracking noticeably improved after the alignment. They also installed some camber bolts. Does anyone know what 'camber bolts' are and why they were needed?

from what i've read and heard, the camber bolts were left out on some C classes during production and some models were recalled for an expection for that. i have yet to get any kind of notice for it, but for me it wouldnt matter, i had my car lowered so it wouldnt be covered.

I hit a curb 4 months ago and it rip the tyre prety badly, however the alginment is still ok, the sterring wheel is perfectly centre. The knock is pretty bad, the ESP triangle came flashing and the whole car just move sideways
