not too bad of a way to get 594 songs in your car.....

plus you can probably fit 17 or so tracks in the single slot on the deck itself.

True dat. I only wish it would play mp3s off of DVDs like my Alpine does in my truck. But it would prolly be overkill as it is there. I rarely am in the truck long enough to get through 4gig of MP3s, usually end up rewriting the disc with newer material. But always nice to know I could if I wanted to.

Thanks for checking for me.

if the changer was installed correctly, it also requires version coding.

Sunil, the newer version changer is not compatible with MY 2001-2004.5, correct? I just want to make sure because if it is, I'll probably try to do a swap.

Mike in his 1st post makes it sounds as if it is plug & play??? Are you saying that is not the case?

Mike has a 2005 model, so he wouldn't need version coding. I think Sunman is referring to 2001-2004.5 models.

It was plug and play for my 05 C Class. No coding needed.

Sorry for replying to an old thread but i wanted to say thank you... thanks to this thread i swapped my changer out in my '05 as well and now i can play mp3s. Very easy to do and only a matter of 10 minutes.

BTW, I am selling the original cd changer out of my 2005 c230 if anyone wants it, $150 shipped. Thanks.

On ebay right now theres a 07 CD changer from a W220. If its gonna go into a 05' W203 C55 will it fit? the changers look almost identical but i've learned looks can be deceiving. o.O
