Hey drex,

Why wont this work for the older models? If it uses the same type of fiber optic cable as the one currently in use by the 6 CD changer, it makes sense that it should work for the MP3 CD changer as well.

Thanks for the info.

I think the connector is different. Also Headunit is not the same on the pre-facelift models.

When I 1st posted this I was comparing to the Ipod AUX mini jack in. Since then I also installed the Ipod kit as well. Best of both now. I find myself still using the CD changer more since all my usual favorites are on there and I always forget to bring my Ipod and plug it back in. I only really use the ipod when buddies are riding w/ me and plug their phone in. I may start using it more often when I switch to Iphone.

I ended up taking apart the whole center console and doing the IPOD kit as well.

I've also bought the same CD changer (MC3520) from eBay for my 2006 C230 with Audio20.

I bought the fiber optic MOST cable from the dealer, but was unable to find the (3 pin?) power cable for it in the trunk.

Does anyone have the part # for the CD changer power cable?

My MY05 C230 will not play MP3 discs in the changer. Just tossing that out there.

Factory placement for the CD changer is in the glove box

Correct this thread is just letting people know that 05 head units are capable of using the 06/07 W203 MP3 cd changers.

My apologies, I meant that I was looking for the power cable in the trunk, as some have found the spare MOST cable in the trunk.

Any clues as to the part # of the MC3520 power cable?

Here is a picture of the CDC.

I need the power cable that plugs into the port circled in red.

Thanks!

I'm not sure of the part# for that cable. My W203 already had an exsisting changer so I had all the necessary wiring from the start. Maybe somebody with an EPC can chime in. If not your local MB parts counter guy should be able to get it. Since You are adding a changer you may also need the feature turned on via STAR for the headunit to detect the changer.

from what i know the cable is in the car somewhere. they seem to have no constant place of putting it i would first check behind the radio and in the passenger area.

Thanks! I ended up calling a reputable audio shop, and was told that the power cable is not needed as it can be spliced from other wires behind the HU.
