you don't know how many vendors I asked... even one off pieces (they were too expensive). I must have 30 posts on this topic...

here's the deal:

there's a fundamental difference in the m3 diffuser. the rear diffuser section is bolted on and easily removable. so, you can easily put on the new cf section. for the w203, you have to either drill/double sided tape/or cut and mold the diffuser on. it may seem easy, but there have been lots of problems making a cf double sided tape diffuser for our car and the E55. the weave/material has to be very thin so it doesn't stick out and that makes it easily prone to cracking.

there were a few one off diffusers made (see the C32 forum) but I haven't heard of any more or any going into mass production. like most stuff for the w203, the vendors don't see the market there.

Better keep dreaming then, because from what Phil says, to make a mold on a rear diffuser would have to be more expensive (That's if it is real carbon fiber).

Now, from the "one offs" that are out there, are they full carbon fiber or just wrapped?

Post a pic of what you want to be in carbon fiber (real deal, not wrapped) and I;ll get started on it. I'm in the process of having a carbon fiber mesh grill made and a little bit different stock carbon fiber one as well. One of my good friends is a pro at carbon fiber stuff. He builds and repairs carbon fiber race car bodies for a local race team.

Now we are talking. How can we get a pic of the part we need. Anthuny got any closeups of your diffuser?

I've been reading about CF projects for the W203 for 4 years now on this forum...

want to know what kills it every time ???

cheap-*** foooos who want them cheaper than what it costs to produce,
leaving no profit margin for the manufacturer (home baked or not), and not enough takers to make more than half-a-dozen. Everyone else backs out at the last moment flaking. No one wants to be the guinea pig to test-fit,
and there are a bunch of scammers from Indonesia and other shady places in the world that have delivered sub-par inferior products. That's pretty much the stigma behind CF products for the W203 on this forum.

With that said, there are one-offs out there, that frustrated but resourceful MBWorlders have put on their cars. Big difference: they were willing to pull out the big bucks and have it done right.

People, you drive Mercedes, not Hondas... you get what you pay for !!!!

I'm not sure about the "one offs," but there was a guy who did the first one for the E55 guys. I had e-mailed him regarding doing the same thing for us. He needed at least 20 people in just to recover his fees for the mold (and possibly bumper) and then it would be damn pricey still. It would cost us more than the E55 CF diffuser (b/c the E55 one is based off of the black plastic that comes stock and for ours he has to get a bumper and create a mold for it). So, I didn't bother anymore...

As for $250, I wish! Try doubling that. The bootleg eBay CF Diffusers for the M3 are $300 alone and the real vorsteiner "quality" ones are $600-700. You have to pay to play.

I would be down for a rear CF diffuser. I asked Neal at eurotek and it would be too hard to make one since it would need to be very thin. I have seen 2 one off projects on the C32 section.

I guess the only option is to trim CF style sticker!

When I first bought my car, I never thought I'd be hearing the S.O.S. that I heard over at the MX-6 forums. Peeps always complaining about how "expensive" mods were and always trying to find a "cheap" way around things...I found that frustrating, especially because that was people complaining about $500 JDM projector headlights.

So when I bought the Benz, my first thought was, "I'm glad it's a Benz cuz then I won't have to see people complaining about prices on mods..." I get over here and it's almost worse! Seriously, folks, there have been a lot of people doing "custom" mods for the w203 peeps ever since I came on here, but no matter how "affordable" the mod is, people still complain.

There are only a handful of people that have done significant power mods on here, even though there are parts available! Even specials for the m271 (just gotta do some research).

It's time to walk the walk, peeps! Last year of the w203, so that means it's time to do some serious modding!

how am I being racist? do you know what a racist is? I suggest you look it up and learn its proper usage (as well as grammar overall).

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but the kia jokes are getting old and for you to tell people they're being cheap and to get a kia... yeeeeah.

it's easy to remember your stuff b/c you make such a fuss over it and it's actually pretty funny (not for you, but for everyone else).
