Tein SS thread issue

Hey everyone, i searched the forums for this answer and couldnt find an answer. im trying to raise my rear up more. (assuming moving the the rings DOWN will raise the car in the rear...that could be wrong, also i couldnt test it) I figured my rear is real low and the ring is 1/2" or less from the top so that would mean lowering the rear rings would raise the car... so on to the problem.. when i turn the rings to go down the threads move with it so its not actually lowering the rings. i sprayed some wd40 on the rings maybe to loosen it up but had no luck.. anyone else have this issue and how to fix it??? thanks a lot!!

Tony

I've heard it's all but impossible to adjust the rears without removing them, but never actually tried. I just had the rear set all the way down the first time with no intention of ever needing to re-adjust!

I am planning to drop my rear but I have not tried it out.

I think dropping/raising the rear may require some professional help though

It's a real pain in the A$$ to lower the rears, but it can be done. I'm assuming you're using the TEIN wrenches that are provided, correct? If so, just know that it take some "elbow grease" to do it.

Anyway, is there step-by-step instruction on how to do this? I searched the forum but haven't found any answers yet.

Something Slow
ok i raise and lower mines a few times without removing the entire suspension its takes a while and few cuts on the fingers lol

what i did was turn the TOP ring all the way up and tighten with the copper color adjuster thingy do this so that when you turn the botom ring the copper thing turn and the upper rings turns too...... use the TEIN wrench to hold the upper ring in place and then turn the bottom ring with the wrench try that.

and yes i think you need to turn the bottom ring downward for the car to raise up higher.. hope that helps

to lower the rear you will have the jack up the car and the suspension cannot have any load on it, so you will be actually be able to turn the knuckles. Moving the knuckles down = raising the car up.

I raised mine up all the way. It's at 1 finger cap on the 19s.
