Anyway, I remembered that someone over at benzsport did a very nice little writeup about their install. I think it's on the electronics board - you should check it out. They got their comand system from Steve (he's mentioned in the write-up) in Europe (he can ship to rest of world), and he should be able to get it for you much cheaper than MB could do.

Look at the C3320 sedan bi-xenon install - there's some info on him there. But make sure that you check that benzsport thread that I mentioned - great instructions there. I was kind of surprised that it didn't look as complex as I had imagined.

I've been mulling about this too. EBay.de prices for a nice grade W203 unit seem to range between 600-800 euro. This is obviously WELL below the dealer price after build - or even factory build.
BUT - what other parts does one need? Is there a comprehensive list?
The install doc you mention - was for an E class I believe. It was informative, but I don't know how much of it applies.
Then there's also the concept that the new DVD-based systems will be hitting the streets in the next few months. AND factory build price will be $1200 - what does that mean to us aftermarket hacks?
Please share on this thread. I'd love to see one in my car (well for less than they wanted from the factory!)

Tariq, retro-fitting COMAND to a North American car is fairly easy because they are pre-wired. On cars sold in other markets, it is harder because the interior must be partially removed to run the wiring.
Richard is very knowledgable about this. You should send him a PM. He is very helpful.
