I agree that it's not the case in every instance, but correct me if I'm wrong with this statement: A C230 with X amount of performance mods would not be able to keep up with a C320 with the same X amount of performance mods. That's just what I thought because it makes the most sense, but what do you think?
If car #1 has a duck in the car, and car #2 has a goose, if car #1's duck farted, does that make car #1 faster?!

Unless you find me a 320 that has paid the money for a Kleemann supercharger (ala Sunman), it is VERY possible for a 230 to be competitive with a 320 (especially the m111 engine).
See, I wasn't trying to attack you, I was just pointing out the fact that you are barely a newbie, but you're kinda talking out of your but. Read through the history in this forum (there is a lot in the w203 forums) and you'll see what people have/haven't done. That way, you'll really get a better picture and then also understand that what you're saying is just an assumption.

That's why I mentioned the fact that you've only been a member since February. You haven't done enough reading and research on what can / can't be done with the different models (excluding the newer models respectfully, because those engines haven't really had much backing because they are so new).

And I can see why it'd be VERY possible because having driven all 3 models, I can barely tell the difference between the three. Sometimes I even feel like the 230s and 240s are more powerful (stock) than mine, but I think it's just buyer's remorse kicking in. Or maybe the carbon fiber trim.

You are taking this in quite good sport. I'm impressed.
While it is just my opine, I think that the S/C on the M111, makes for a powerful motivator. As Drex was saying, and I had mused, put a Kleeman S/C on a 320, and fuhget about it.

No point in getting all riled up on a forum. I like being here and talking about our cars and stuff, not here to cause trouble.

I believe most of you mod your car only because you like it and enjoying it.
Not because you wanna race or one another.
I am only asking that with those 3 mods, will I be able to keep up with the C350.
I not trying to race C350 or others, I just want to have a little more power, that's all. Even with the 3 mods installed, I prob won't just go out to pick on C350 regardless if my car is faster or slower.
And I don't think it's fair comparing the supercharged C230 to stock C320, besides if you want to compare with someone, there is always someone out there is faster than you.

But C320 and C32 has different engine, I don't know if there is anyone that did this mod on the forum. I only know people put Kleeman supercharger.

Okay, guys...just stop and DON'T SPEAK IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. Please. You're gonna confuse people.
The 320 engine is the same engine as the C32, BUT...they are not set up the same. Technically speaking, an AMG kompressor can be put on the C320 engine, BUT there would have to be so many other changes that would amount to the same cost as an Engine Swap.

On the other hand, the M271 has forged connecting rods because it came factory blown - this opens up other avenues, basically reassurance when adding more boost.

Also, if you wanted to know if a 320K keeps up with a C32K - it doesn't. It shy's in wheel horsepower by about 40HP from the Affalterbachers stock - you may be able to make this up doing some dynotuning though - and to overdrive the kompressor to kick out 2-3 more psi.

Yup, i was lucky enought to find a Kleeman supercharged 320 before i bought my car so i was comparing all of the stats with the 32. It is about 40hp shy of the the AMG and if i recall correctly it was almost a whole second (somewhere between .7 and .9 seconds) behind the 32's 0-60 time. If you want to know about the Kleeman kit, Car & Driver has an article on it. The 32's engine is not just an M112 with a supercharger, as some may think, the internals are different.

I would say, spend some money but don't go overboard, and if you get close - that's good enough. I would: ECU, UD pulleys, Cold airtake, try and lose 100 pounds (lighter batt, etc) and whatever else is cost effective. If you have to spend more than $3000, you might start thinking about trading your car in.

The problem is - is the weight of your car is close to the weight of the C350. If you look at other examples of people trying to move up performance wise, they have smaller engines and lighter cars (like a C230k vs a C320). A few 100 pounds makes a big difference off the line.

I just want to be a little faster, but if i can't get close enough to C350, no biggie
