From Searching the Forum, Seems the 01-02 year C's had problems. ANY 05-06 problems?
After searching the Forum for days searching for information on common problems with C class mercedes, I have come to a conclusion that the 01-02 cars seemed to have the most problems...
I would like to purchase an 05 C320 4matic or a 06 C280 4matic and wonder what the common problems on these cars are. I want to buy at 20k miles and drive to 120k miles, so if anyone has high miles, Please chime in.

I have 41K on my US wagon, and the only faults have been a defective siren, broken shifter boot bezel, and chrome trim flaking off the cup holder. The tailgate opener switch was replaced because it would not work when the temperature was over 100 F.
Trouble free car in my experience. I have had Porsche cars that lived at the dealership, and visited me on weekends.

Another way to look at it - the 01 and 02's have probably had their problems fixed under warranty. You can find a cherry example with less than 25K like I did. Bought my 02 C320 a year ago with warranty repair history from MB which any dealer can print out for you with the VIN. Absolutely no problems so far and loving the car for my purchase price of $21K.... ;-)
(and I can afford to buy just about new any car I want up to $100K or so... but why?)

that's pretty true.The trade in cars, or buybacks are getting their "software" upgrade. I mean you can go for a C240 - 2001-3, but it's just the 168 hp that bugs me. BUT if you don't mind that, go right ahead. Similar story with the C320. AND, if you want the new look, you can just mod it. If you are a modder that is. I personally don't like the old frosty headlamps, the side blinkers, taillights, interior wood trim, console, and the meters. That's quite a few mods if I want to change all of that. SO I just decided to purchase a 2007.
