If you look at the pictures, you'll see a binch of exsposed wires. Ther means you have to cut the wire harness in the avic and twist them accordingly. Now, if you can get a after market "smart clip" from circiut city for both the avic and your car, then you can just plug everything in and it saves about 25 minutes on the instal and you never have to worry about a wire coming loose, grounding out, and screwing you your whole car.

powa has... and soon i will too! i'm planning to post pics... but it shouldn't be too different than the DIY on installing the AVIC-z1. the only difference is the bypass to my understanding.
one thing i wish the DIY on the avic-z1 had was how to hook up the metra harness before you match the wires with the pioneer ones. but it might be self explanatory once the unit is gutted and in front of me.

I am still waiting to see some pics of any aftermarket HU on a 05+ W203. I think the metra kit for 05+ is single din only. I am thinking of a JVC NX5000. smaller screen but it's got a ratings at many places. the internal 40gb hdd is really a plus too.

all i gotta do is sit patiently until the bluetooth unit is released in 3 weeks and my steering wheel control adapter comes in... torture!
costco is the shhh#*%! installation included for 1099! and i talked to the guy and he's gonna hook up the bypass w/o a problem.
