Awesome, Steve. Looks great. Do you have the part numbers for the front and rear wear indicators? I have all the other part numbers, but I think the wear indicators are the last part numbers I need.

TIA

I suppose the c32 brakes might suck in comparison to those you have now,
but they did a great job of slowing me from 80 to like 10 for the dumbass that pulled in front of me tonight while I was driving fast on a mountain road.
I didn't even skid. Had the ESP off at the dash.

But then, I only needed to do that once.

No. C32 brakes are 4 piston and the C350 SS brakes are 2 piston. An exception might be late model '04 SS' and the first '05 SS'.

Thanks for the correction Frank. I figured all the sport sedans had the same brakes, but I guess not. A picture would be able to confirm it Andy.

Even the late 04 brakes are different. They have a smaller bore the the c32. They use different style of pad and smaller rotor.

I thought so too and I have both the 2006 and 2007 C350 at home.

I'll try and remember to take pics of both C350's when I get home tonight. Both brake callipers are the rectangle'ish 4 pistons with "Mercedes Benz" lettering, not the 2 pistons callipers with tapered ends.

Sounds like I've been PWNED by Frank. @ FrankW for the knowledge and @ AndySays for having two C350's!

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
Car looks awsome Steve. There is nothing better than big brakes on a smaller car. Is it necessary to change to a 17 inch wheel for those calipers? Can stock 16's work with it?

The C32 brakes might date back to a time before the "Greens" took the asbestos out of brake pads and changed it to brown sugar. Cars have not stopped as well since.

I am not sure why Steve is even talking about winter tires, since he spends most of the winter in California!!!!!

these brakes will only fit 18s and bigger...17s won't fit anymore...wintertires are needed for the occasional drive through the snow when I am in europe (had to turn around and head back home 2 weeks ago as well when heading for stuttgart on my summertires and encountering too much snow (which was barely any snow at all) PLUS it gives me an excuse to swap the style of rims around twice a year.

for the 203s with sport brake package (optioncode 949 and/or 950) there are 4 different partnumbers listed per side and I think there are both 4 piston ones and 2 piston ones used on the 203s.

greetingz,

greetingz,
I had to do the same thing. Thought I could do a quike shot over the pass and miss the snow and ended up turning around and tying it again the next day, with the snow tires. It was like night and day after changing tires. Which snow tire are you using?

I keep comin' back to this thread...
that is the badest station wagon..
Well, I did see a REALLY nice C55 wagon on my street the other day,
almost as nice as your wagon Steve.

I WANT, but don't really need, those rear brakes.
Alas, we don't get to drive fast much in the USA.

Last time I put "the hammer down" ( ha) as in hit the limiter,
the guy BEHIND me got pulled over.
Poor guy.
I've been being a good boy since.
It sucks too, since some of the highways here BEG to go fast.

Newer ceramic tech rules...
Can you say "Akebono" or better yet (and twice the price)
"Porterfield"?

Are you running a 6pot / 2pot setup right now, pshek?

Steve,

I didn't even realize there was a rear indicator on the w203. Do you have the part number for the front wear indicator? Thanks.

I drove my car through germany for 1400km (875 miles) yesterday and am IMPRESSED with these brakes - that is some serious slowing down from 200+km/h speeds! Should have done this change a lot sooner.
