don't have a clue...hopefully they don't

to think of it. A C-class can't possibly use a 3.7 liter engine because that would mean a very steep price increase. And, why would people want a freaking small car to have big engines anyway.

People will always want more horsepower in a small package. Rumour has it that Lexus will shoehorn a larger and more powerful 4.3 in the IS300 "IS430"

Power to weight ratio. Small car + big engine = fun

from what i heard is that Toyota wants to put a V8 into the IS for it to compete with the M3, C32, and the S4.

Vince, i agree with you, but big engine also could mean nose heavy, and drinking a lot more gas.

I don't think it would be a big deal. A little change in the bore and stroke and you get the added displacement. Plus the extra HP would be a competitive move since the Japanese luxury cars are more powerful and probably hurting sales.

i guess i meant to say that unless BMW or Audi made changes with their compact car, MB is unlikly to be the first one. Or the other way around....so, hmm...what am i saying again?
