Front seat and steering wheel removal without disconecting the battery

I was just going to remove the battery before tryng to figure out how to pull out the steering wheel and front seats ...... but after reading about all the hassles people have had when disconnecting the battery, I guess I should try and get seme advice of anyone who has pulled the seats and wheel with the battery connected as I don't want to have any airbag problems or errors from dissconnecting the seats while the car has power........ how have you guys done it ?

As long as you replug the seat back in, you'll have no errors. The steering wheel, I've never removed, but I wouldn't want to have the power on when I'm messing around with it, on general principles.

the airbag will not go off. Do not put the key in the ignition with airbag removed or you will have a AIRBAG warning light on.

Thanks Sunman ... so I can pull the steering wheel with the battery still connected, and there is no hassle with the airbag going off ?.... I assume it is just the torx screws at the back, and then pull it off and dissconnect the wires ?

And the same with the seats .... disconnecting the seat wires while the battery is connected will not cause any errors when I reconnect the seat wires ?

yep, 2 Torx (i used a 4mm Hex) behind the wheel, then the airbag comes off.
then disconnect wires and remove the 10mm Hex bolt in middle with a Torque Wrench or Breaker Bar

excellent, I appreciate the help

and any info on getting the seats out.

This is all so I can put them in a heated room for a couple of days and soak them in Leatherique .... I did the same thing with my M3 seats and wheel, and the results were amazing.
