in a perfect world I would like a 5000K set. They are inbetween blue and white, a perfect color IMO. But I think I would go to the 6000K if I had to. While Drew makes a good point even if they lose 25% of there light over the stock ones they are still around 2.25 times brighter than halogen bulbs. Although I know that the 6000K will produce less visible light, I have yet to see any evidence that it is 25% less light. either way the xenons are gonna give you plenty of light. if you are worried about scattered light in bad weather, get some phillips vision plus bulbs, work great in rain/snow.

Timmy, it has been tested and proven using a light meter, that the loss from moving to 6000K is around 20-25%, depending on the manufacturer of your OEM Xenon bulb. They may appear brighter because the whiter colour temperature fools people into thinking that it is (just as the PIAA bulbs appear brighter). Note that another reason is that for people switching to 6000K bulbs often have reflector-based HIDs with the D2R bulbs. The projector-based D2S bulbs are slightly brighter. :p
I'm not sure I understand why you would go to Phillips VisionPlus halogen bulbs to combat scatter. Scatter is caused by the blue wavelength refracting much easier, which is why true foglamps tend to be yellow. I'm not referring to HID-into-halogen headlamp assembly retrofits, BTW. I'm not really a big fan of those.

so i assume the regular housing assemblies (non-projector) use the d2r bulbs. can i use the d2s bulbs even though i don't have projector lens?

Both bulbs share the same socket... but one the D2S has parts of it blacked out... they are essentially the same bulb but in a non projector housing the D2R will produce more light. If a D2R was placed into a projector (which I tried on my sister's beemer) the light scatters all over the place without a distinct pattern... excellent for blinding oncoming traffic :POriginally posted by antonio

With that kind of a fleet, why on earth did you order the C without factory Xenons?
Care to give me one of your spare cars? Buddy?

I think it will depend on your dealer...its like a 5 minute job to change the settings. Some dealers will do it for free but I think someone mentioned that it cost him $20-$30.Originally posted by Carlsson_C

Try M.B. Star in city of Walnut. They installed my xenon lights for me and reprogramed the computer also. Very nice people and they know what they are doing. They even have the system(D.A.S.) that factory uses to get into your cars computer. The number is 626-913-0780. Give them a callOriginally posted by Carlsson_C

Sounds more like he has an ignorant dealer. It is illegal for dealers, or anyone else, to add HID's. The Fed's won't bother an individual who does this, but they will fine a dealer big $$$$.
If the HID's are already installed, I don't think the dealer will get in trouble for changing a computer setting.
