...two spring mechanisms (*sp?) at the top, inside the trunk, just under the deck? They are covered by two black oval shaped pieces of plastic. There is one on each side of the car. I was thinking my car didn't have fold down rear seats- but does it?

They hold the rear seat in place. You'll need to insert a screw driver in the hole and move the spring. This will unlatch the top part of the seat.

 

Double damn.

Damn #1- I just walked my lazy rear out to the cold garage and snapped a picture- only to find out I didn't need to.

Damn #2- Thought I just stumbled upon the solve-all idea to my upcoming stereo install- mounting the sub IB. But since my original thought of the seats not being fold down- looks like I won't be going IB on the sub.
