If that fire started from the engine bay than you wold have been in a better shape with the stock hooc. Either way that sucks. I would cry like a girl if that would happend to me.

like I said above. JT's fine. there were no passengers. it actually happened about a month ago, so insurance has already taken care of everything. most likely the HID shorted out and caught on fire after he hit some debris (blown out tires maybe) on the freeway.

that's what we think started the fire. he had both HID kit for headlights and the fogs. I believe they were McCulloch HID kits.

i had those in my C230...they were great, no flickering at all.

My dealer said that HIDs in the existing fog light assembly is a bad idea because of the type of plastic surround used down there.
