I think the mesh grilles are 'clipped on', therefore, you should look for the chips (behind the bumper and detach them). Never done it before, but I believe this is how it's done.

The bumper needs to be removed. They are held on by clips from the back of the bumper.

Awww... removing the bumper will be too risky for me to DIY.

Maybe get the bodykit guys to do it then.

That's what I said! Just kidding.

By the way, your car is hot! I never imagined those wheels on a C-Class, but you made it work, nice!

Removing rear bumper on coupe?

Anyone done this?
Yes, I STF'd but don't see anything related to the coupe.
I need to do this soon, and most especially I want to remove the impact strips.

Do I need to remove the bumper on the coupey to get the strips?

I've got a new rear bumper and it's getting painted.
I want the impact strips to get painted too....

Either way, I need to R&R the bumper.
But if I can get away with leaving it on, and managing to pull the impact strips without removing it, I need to do that ALSO.
And then do the complete swap after paint.

If it's necessary to remove the whole bumper to get to the impact strips, then I may need to drive it like that for a couple of days.
Anyone know if there's any law against driving with the bumper off?

look in the D.I.Y. stickies. its easy. take ur wheels off or turn then to the furthest direction [left or right]. take off the panels in the wheel wells. remove the 8 or 10mm screws in the front lower air dam, remove clips from inner wheel well, remove screws from top part of bumper [under hood] and your set. its REALLY easy. ill be doin it tmrw/weds. im sooooooo excited [sarcatic]
