Unlock it first, then press and hold the unlock button. It's on page 189 of your owner's manual.

I think Mercedes is the best for this feature. We can open/close our windows and sunroofs by our remote keys. From what I know, BMW owners can open their windows and sunroofs by remote just like ours, but they have to insert their keys to the keyholes on their doors to close them.

strange, because my car has the infrared sunroof/windows feature... i doubt something that small would be an option....

Not to be a wise guy, but to the members that can't get this feature to work, all your windows need to be syncronized in order for it to work properly.

My 2005 model has an IR sensor on the driver's side door handle only. I have heard this was part of the 2004.5 update (someone correct me if that is wrong).

When I bought my car, the salesman demonstrated this feature. He said I had to be close to the sensor, and pointed directly at it.

There is that infrared sensor thingy alright but it didn't work in the afternoon when I tried. I tried it again later that evening and the windows rolled down but couldn't reproduce the results... sigh!

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
The windows/roof can only work with the infrared as a safety feature. This is to assure that the operator of the feature can see the car so they don't operate the windows/roof with someone's head or limb in the way.

For you fellas that can't get it to work, try new batteries. Clean the contacts in the key with alcohol so the batteries send full power into the key. To test it, point the end of the key at your video camera. See if you see the light blinking on the video screen from the red cover over the end of the key. If necessary clean the end of the key and the little window on the door handle with Windex. In hot sun, shield the sensor with one hand and push the key button with the other. If the door handle is real hot, like on a black car in the sun, you might have to wait until the sensor cools a bit.

2004 C230 (pre-update) has IR sensor on both sides. Works great all the time.
