As long as its a deep sort of growl, it should sound great...not like those riced out civics that sound like lawn mowers!
How much did you say it was?...wait I'll look at the earlier post...

Do u think it will look better if i paint the muffler into a black or grey colour?? not the tips though. It really stands out, i think it's because my car colour is dark.

It really sounds great, the more gas I give, the more roar the muffler produce. Since the C230K with C7 have a cat-back setup already, I think just a muffler swap can give you a decent gain. I did a little drag comparsion with my C230K and my friend's C230K after muffler was on. We both have K&N cone filter, and we both are automatic. I was driving my car and he was driving his at the first run, both with ESP off. Since my friend is not very good at launch, I got 1/4 car length on him from 0-60mph, but he start to pull away very very slowly after that. Second run, I drove his car and he drove mine, I have almost one car length on him at the 60mph mark and I just keep pulling away from him. I think the muffler did help abit, but again, no dyno # can prove on this. Base on the 10 runs with the G-tech meter and my little drag comparsion, I think the car did have a gain in horsepower.

Scylas: mine one is the one with the oval double tip.
zhaoyi: Well there is an AMG muffler available for my car but in Australia they cost almost twice the price of Remus, it might sound better but i don't have that kind of money unfortunately

Does the sounds of the muffler change over the period of time?? I think i'm getting deaf from my muffler, so freakin loud, thinkin of swapping it to Remus, don't get me wrong though, the sounds is great it's just after a couple of days i'm starting to get sick of it. The sound inside is so freakin deafening, maybe something wrong with the piping??

I don't think there's something wrong with the piping, thats just the way it sounds. Since it could be a straight thru design theres nothing you can do about the noise.
With Remus you can't barely hear the noise at all unless you take off the resonator (I think...). Try Supersprint or AMG. I was going to get AMG but AMG don't make exhaust for C200K. I didn't get Supersprint cos at that time I had to wait for weeks before the stock arrived. Their prices are not much different, AMG is about AU$1500 and the Supersprint is around AU$1000 I think. My Remus cost $1000 from Carshine in Melb. If you want Supersprint try call SRS (02 9283 2062) in Sydney, they supply SRS mufflers.
The exhaust noise will be quiter after a few weeks but not that much, so just wait for a few weeks before you decide what to do with your current exhaust.

wow, thanks bajaiman , yeah AMG muffler is a bit pricey there they told me it's around 1700. I'll wait till next week, if the sound still give me a headache i'll give SRS a call. Did u guys know that exposing your bones to a sound wave around 50 Hz or lower can improve your bone strength (well at least it has been proven in cats)?? I read this ages ago from some reputable magazine, can't remember the name. So i figured the muffler and the subs are good for the bone and bad for the ears

2001 C240 / 6-speed
I have had a Brabus cat-back exhaust on my C240 for 6 months now. I really like it. The sound is similar to a Remus (at least one I heard on a 328i)....quiet unless you get on it. A nice burble at idle. Close the windows and you can barely tell it is there from inside the car.
Yes, at $1300 it was expensive, however it was the only system I found that was a bolt-on (no pipe cutting, it came with its own resinator) and I did not have to cut the rear bumper valance for the tips. I can go back to stock by myself in the garage in about 30 minutes.

The Dynomax UltraFlow muffler is another story, once it warm up from driving, the bass tone will be much deeper than when it is cold. The muffler is so loud, even with all the windows close, I can still hear it inside the car.
