Have u heard about MagnaFlow muffler
I just checked into a local muffler shop and saw a MagnaFlow muffler, He said it's american made and outperform Remus on the sound and power. Is he telling a lie?? the price is half the Remus.
Do u know if Remus will released more tip design for C class sedan, currently they only have 3 design. Thanks

My friend is going to put a 2.5" Dynomax UltraFlow muffler in his C230K tomorrow. The flow rate of the muffler is appox 1200CFM. I will try to take some pictures tomorrow if I have time. The muffler cost about $73 US.
Here is the website of the muffler. Dynomax UltraFlow

I wish we can have US prices in Australia , if the price of the muffler is say US$75 then there'll be shipping charges + stamp duty tax (15%) + Seller margin + GST tax (10%).... at the end Australian customer might have to pay maybe about US$200 which is about almost half of Remus price.

Remus exhaust note is not annoying at all, i can't barely hear the exhaust note even at WOT , all I hear is my s/c whine ...I wish my Remus would make a louder note, its just too quite for my taste. Installed Hi-Tech before the Remus and I've got to take it off again cos its just too bloody loud. Thinking to remove the resonator to make it a bit louder...but not sure whether the exhaust note would be too loud if I do that.
I've got the 2x90mm, I would've got the 2x70mm if Remus had one...its quite big upclose, but at a distance they look allright!

I bet u can install a super dark window tint and still get away with it

Eason, let us know how it works out with the Magnaflow. It's a nice muffler for V8s and had it on my wifes suburban, sounded really nice, never tried it on a 4 banger.

I will keep you guys update on the Dynomax muffler tomorrow.
Although some of you might think the G-Tech meter is not accurate, but I will still do some runs with the G-Tech to see if there's a difference.

I know a guy that has a Chevy Cavalier, witha Magnaflow muffler. It sounds good i think. He has the 4banger engine. He does not have a large tip or any other exhuast mods. I can only hope that the SC would cuase it to sound better.

My friend got the Dynomax UltraFlow muffler installed (2.5" straight thru muffler) , all I have to say is LOUD. It has a very low rumble like those V8's, and sounds so much different then those ricers. I can actually feel the low tone bass shakes the seat. I didn't notice any loss power in low end, but the car runs very smooth in mid to high rpm. I did about 10 G-Tech runs on the same road, and I consistently hitting 6.8sec-6.9sec in 0-60mph. He have the same type of K&N cone filter as mine (I did the setup for him), and the muffler alone shave 0.2-0.3sec in 0-60mph. For $75US, I think it is very good for the money. Here are some pictures of the muffler. I also have a small video clip, but I don't know how to post it here.

hey eason you read my mind, my car is actually sounded like that too, i can feel my spine tingling :p, well the car now has more pulling power uphill, it will be nice if the muffler is a bit quiter. I think i will put some sound deadning in the car to get rid some of the noise, overall i'm quite happy

I will expect maybe 3 - 5 Hp gain just maybe, i only used my trusty "bottom" to feel the power. This muffler tend to be noisy inside the cabin, but sounds quite good outside, sounds really nice after 5000 rpm to redline.
