What Mileage you guys have so far (MY?) Problems / dealer visits?

Just wanna see how many miles have your folks covered so far in you EQE SUV. I am looking / debating to purchase a EQE SUV ...but not sure how reliable it is after reading lots of stories on software issues (seriouls issues like engine shutting down / cannot start etc), squeaks and rattles.

Our sedan has 19k+ miles and our SUV has 15k+ miles. Only issue we have had on the sedan was a problem with a wiring harness that once caused a power reduction issue after 12k miles. Restart fixed the immediate concern, and eventually service reconnected it and all has been totally fine since. Others may have different experiences, but they've been super reliable for us.

I do have a very quiet ticking noise in my sedan's dash, pressing on it makes it go away for a while. SUV is totally silent. My dad also has the same SUV we do and it's also totally quiet. So far, our report is pretty solid.

Edit: Both sedan and SUV are 350 Matics, produced in April 2023.

AMG EQEX 5,120 miles (purchased in Dec. 2023). No issues other than my puddle lights were swapped out to correct the build content. No squeaks, creaks, rattles, groans! The wheel size is 22". Totally quiet on the highway. I keep the speed alert set so that I don't go over the limit by 5 mph.

I had all sorts of problems in the first 3 months of ownership which I attribute to software issues. The inexperience by the service department likely led to subsequent hardware issues. The car has been problem free for the last ten months once these problems were resolved

This situation is not unusual for a first year model, and should no longer be a problem.

my new EQE AMG SUV no issues at 1500 miles. Love the power and ride. Only issue I have is the full battery range is only 250!miles on highway 55mph. Down to 220miles at Interstate speed of 70mph. The dashboard meter tracks closely with actual when fully charge the battery to 80% (211 miles)

Hmm... I'm showing a range of 255 miles at 80% charging. Tracks pretty well with charging for miles covered. 3.1 miles/ KWH 50% highway and local streets at 45 mph. What drive settings are you using? Front motor disconnects in Comfort setting over 35mph. What size wheels and type of tires?

2013 SL350 (R231), 2024 EQE350 4matic SUV (X294)
I purchased a 4 month old demonstrator EQE350 4matic SUV with 3200 miles on it. Owned it 3 weeks so far. It went back to the dealer the second week when I noticed the rear passenger door handle wouldn’t register any touch (touch to lock, touch to extend door handle). The dealer did some software coding and fixed it.

After the above was fixed, I then noticed that the door handles will extend and light up if I approach the car (as expected), but if i walk away from the car, the door handles never retract and they remain lit up. They stay this way forever, until I manually lock the car. They are supposed to automatically retract after a minute or two. I think whatever software coding they did to fix the above first issue, has created this new issue.

Also, there is a plastic sounding tapping/clicking/rattle sound coming from the dashboard when going over some bumps (around the heads-up display area). They have attempted twice to fix this by adding padding in the area. But this is still not fixed.

Not sure if its me just being fussy, but I also noticed a slight creaking coming from the steering wheel when turning it (maybe the clock spring?). The cheap little GLB loaner they gave me had no noises at all. My 7 year old Range Rover I part exchanged on this EQE had none of these noises. I expect no noises from this expensive EQE.

It’s back at the dealer (third time now) to fix the door handles and dashboard noise. I might also mention the steering wheel.

I should add that I’m aware this is the first release of this model, so I expect issues. I’m not the grumpy type and happy to work with the dealer and just get the things fixed, which the dealer has been quick to book me in and give me a loan car. I really am enjoying the full electric lifestyle, this is my first. But I also love my SL on the weekend

i wish I had 255 miles at 80%- that equates to 319 at a 100% battery when the EPA rating is 235 miles. Sure your not reporting km vice miles? My vehicle is the AMG version and I use Comfort setting most of the time. When I get on interstate and 70mph the mileage drops quickly from wind resistance. I have seen 3.1 miles/kwh (app trip reading) when constant driving at slower 45mph speeds but rarely. I have 21in tires/ summer rated Michelin. My vehicle dash and center display readout in wh/mile-only the mercedes me app reads out in miles/kwh.

I'm reporting in miles / KWh. One of the things that can reduce range is high temperatures (and also cold temperatures). The sweet spot is around 80 degrees ambient. Running the A/C, lights, and additional features all drain the battery. My SUV is a 2024 AMG EQE SUV with all the bells and whistles including 22" wheels (Michelin 275-35 / R22) PS4 HL tires. When I first purchased the vehicle the range readout at 80% stated 175 miles. That gradually improved to what I'm showing today. One of the things that I recently performed was a battery rebalance. That enhanced the reported mileage by about 5% when things settled down. No doubt that driving the car at 70mph+ generates more wind resistance than at 45mph, but I'm only reporting my experience with my driving mix. I've taken only one moderately long ride which required that I use a charging station at the destination. I don't recall the instantaneous readout from that, but I would suspect it was also 3.0 m/KWh. There's no free lunch here. Also, the tires gradually reduce their rolling resistance which aids in the increased range that I've experienced. Uploading the current reading from the app:

Seems like creaks and rattles (dash / headliner / steering wheel / door) can be bothersome. Also actual miles kWh can be on the 'low' side? Where I am now, the dealership claims 582km (that's 360 miles) under full charge...I am skeptical it can achieve such.. Most places I am reading from other EQE SUV owners are about 230ish miles / 370km, which again seems to be on the low side. Should I pull the trigger? I am also eyeing on the Denza D9 ...

EQE350 SUV 4MATIC
My best range estimate by the car, when it was a few months old, at 80% was 485 km after a week of city driving. More recently, after a year, it is 451. A recent estimate was 568 km at 100% after a combination of city and highway driving.
The range estimate if heavily influenced by recent driving and rate of energy consumption. The range will be lower after highway driving with A/C usage, and expect a 25% or more drop in cold conditions depending on how cold.
But all of this may be immaterial if you do not regularly drive long distances that need charging on the road. A home charging station is a must. Even with long distance driving there are lots of charging stations so it should just be a matter of scheduling rest breaks to overlap with the charging.
If you can negotiate a great deal then go for it. Purchase if planning to keep it for a long time, otherwise lease is the way to go.

350 4matic SUV can realistically get about 285 miles at 70 MPH on a full charge. More than plenty range, tbh. The 500 will likely get over 300 miles with its new bigger battery.

80% charge equals 283m range on app So 350 plus mile range . Car is use only around town, 3rd car for 2 people.. no issues , its quiet smooth, sufficiently quick. S Fl so ac is always on. Luxurios..no but I'm happy w it

Highway driving is the worst for an EV as there are few regeneration opportunities. Part of your problem is the AMG package, I think that came with larger wheels, which are a bad thing for mileage (on both EVs and ICE). Smaller wheel sizes lead to better mileage, which is why I resisted when the salesman was trying to get me to upgrade from the standard size. The loss for even 1" extra diameter is significant.

I'm not following your statement on regeneration. It is more energy efficient to keep a constant speed rather than to recover the energy when changing speed. The issue with the wheel size is more about the tread contact patch vs the wheel dimension. Skinny tires are better than broad tires as they present less air resistance and have less tread hysteresis . Air resistance is the biggest issue for highway driving. That's one of the reasons that the EQE sedans are shaped like potatoes. For the record, the AMG EQEX4 has the same EPA mileage rating regardless of the available wheel dimension.

The wheel and tire diameter matter more, as it takes more energy to rotate the larger tire. You are correct that the wider tires have slightly higher air resistance, but that is dwarfed by the diameter losses. It complicated, and needs careful measurement to find the source and magnitude of losses. I will admit I have never seen a comparison based on tire width, but I am sure a narrower tire would perform better as far as energy loss is concerned. But clearly, wider tires have significant advantages, most likely lower rolling resistance.

Nope! The larger the contact patch, the greater is the hysteresis (rolling resistance) which is the majority of the energy consumption.

I think you may both be right to an extent. There are aerodynamic effects of having more open wheel, for sure. This has an effect at higher speeds. So does sidewall energy loss, contact patch, and wheel weight. They all contribute. The bigger, the less efficient, is the overall consensus.

Not just consensus but confirmed in real world testing. Smaller diameter wheels are better.

Here's how tire and wheel choice affects electric vehicle range (greencarreports.com)

Informative analysis. My AMG EQE4 only had choices of 275-40/R21 or 275-35/R22. I'm still getting 250 miles on 80% charge, which is sufficient for my driving.

There was an interesting comparison recently by "Out of Spec Review" on three Rivian pickups that only varied by wheel size (20", 21" and 22"). They ran a test in Colorado on the interstate and then compared the efficiency of which vehicle/wheel size was the most efficient. Guess which one? The 21-inch wheel. The 22-inch wheel was only 1.5% behind. The 20-inch wheel was lower by 9.5%. There are more differences in the tire specs and wheel size to predict which is better. In my case, I know that the Michelin PS4 A/S tire will have a 2% efficiency penalty compared to the PS4 H/L tire on my vehicle. That's because of the combination of the thicker tread and the difference in the rubber compounds. Unless you're going for the ultimate max range, just get the wheel size/style that you want. The difference is peanuts. YMMV

Max = ECO mode. A/C off, no hard acceleration, lights off, not running at 70mph, etc.

ac always on in s fl, no hgwy, flat local roads

Usually brisk accelration , the 350 replaced a D5 S8 and there's always a 911 in the garage 😀
