New Project PICS!! (56K beware)
Hey all, this is my first project since i started on MBworld. Lemme know what you all think (dont be too cruel )
1. replacing the stock front bumper that has a Rieger lip with the full E63 style front bumper from Rieger. The bumper can be seen on C24Owner's car (hehe, gotta give cred for ideas! id been searching foreverrrr for a bumper i liked then i saw his sig pic!)
2. Clear sidemarkers or euro impact strips. Do you use whatever impact strips you have on a new bumper? Also, if anyone has a good, reasonably priced source for either of those mods (i know i know...ebay...) please let me know.
3. Replacing stock exhaust w/tips with a Eisenmann race-level catback w/ 2x83MM round tips.
Here is the before, I am still in school and have AP tests the next two weeks (if any of you know what that is) so i have no time but Itll prolly get it done within the month. Ill post pics once its done.
No it isnt that crapped-out paintwise...it was a crazy-sunny day and thats the asphalt reflecting in the rear bumper (its a little dusty, but w/e)
Yes thats real carbon fiber. Yes those are real swirl marks . Yes i plan to get it detailed and buffed out after i get the mods and my new paint (which will need to be waxed anyway)

nice!
definitely get the bumper and euro impact strips.
I haven't heard the eisenmann on a 240, but it's pretty loud on a C230. what kind of exhaust do you have now?

Im workin on that hehe
Its heavy in that its way of stock...i mean i didnt just facelift it and put in some clear fogs, ya know? Its sure isnt light mods, IMO
when it comes to like, magnitude of mods from bone-stock (this was a few-options bone-stock 240 w/out navi or sport package) its one of the mid-to-more modified cars...from what ive seen

The hood was like 725 shipped and done, plus install, i got it through my local tuner shop in SoCal, called The Wheel Supply. They do all my work and I got a bit of a discount, so it might be a bit more expensive through other channels. I basically went to them and asked for a cf hood and they tracked one down. Im not just trying to plug them, they really helped a lot and were great about doing it. I cant remember the brand name...its on the inside of the hood and im just a littttle bit too sloth-ish to go look right now.
Hope it helps,

I like your front bumper now compared to E63 style Rieger bumper, although it looks a lot lower than your stock side skirts and rear bumper.
Still,looking good!

Looking good.
If you are planing on getting the Rieger bumper, dont bother with the impact strips, they come built in.
Phil, I have the eisenmann, I'm sure you've seen the video clip.

I think that the only way to have the strips is to buy the inpact strips and have a body shop mold it into the bumper.

i just measured 'em (never had b4) and they are about 3'', maybe 3.25 (dunno exactly, dont have calipers to measure diameter accurately). The ones im getting are 83MM, which is...*does calculations*...3.25'' really fill up that exhaust space in the bumper, eh?

3" are the outside diameters right? I was talking about the inner ones, the part that is welded on. Also, where'd you get them and how much? thanks

oooo, well, Im not sure about the inlet diameter for the tips, to tell you the truth, it was a loooong time ago (the car was bought new in '01 and hasnt changed hands since). They were real cheapo tips from a local exhaust store, it was actually my dad that did it (the car was his at the time, I was like 13), so i dont remember the exact shop or price...but he just happened to find a good looking set of tips for cheap. Sorry I cant be of more help.
