I'm at 39,415. My dealer said the service B is covered under the warranty, but somehow I'm always a little skeptical about such claims. The owners manual doesn't really confirm that, and I'd sure love to save the $700 or so.

Okay... So what do they do with this service??? Im actually almost there but want to know what they do. If its something stupid i can take it to my shop and have my friends dad do everything they do for a fraction of the cost.

Wow you guys drive a lot. lol
Mine is an 06/05 build for MY 2006 and I'm at 21k. The stupid computer is saying I'm "14 Days Past Service B", but I'm not bothering until I hit 24k.
What do you guys do that involves so much driving??????

That is a lot of driving...now that I actually think about it, the figure I gave you is only slightly above average for a year, which is usually 10k miles.....but either way, it will skyrocket this summer because I hate when I'm not in my car!

If you guys are still under warranty, ask them for a 'courtesy inspection'. My '03 is at 49, 8xx right now and I'm over 200 miles from the stealer. Last time I was in, I was talking to a nice young lady who worked there about my warranty most likely being expired before I can make it back again. She said to ask for the 'courtesy inspection', which is what they give a vehicle before you sign up for an extended warranty. They'll go over the car thoroughly, and fix anything wrong with it (they replaced some ball joints and found a couple other things too). My '03 had the full whiz-bang warranty, so they took care of it all. It was in having a climate control module replaced and I asked to have the Service B taken care of while I was in (~3000 miles early), then asked about the courtesy inspection when I was down there dropping it off.
My Service B would have included the brake fluid, but it had been replaced only about a year before, so it was fine.

Put it this way, high mileage isn't a problem on these cars.
I look at it this way, the car will last 150,000 miles or 9 years, whichever comes first. If you can do 20,000 miles a year and drive it for 9 years, you're ahead and doing great.
Unfortunately. While the car itself may last for 200,000 miles or 9 years, the electronics may not. I'd be more worried about the electronic features of the car.
In Europe, people don't consider getting rid of a Mercedes until it's gotten 250,000 KMs. Some wait until 300,000 KMs.
I'm severly under-mileage. I've only averaged 700 miles a month so far. I should consider selling.
