i just got into an accident....

so yea i just got into an accident and my front bumper is screwed up. i got a 2001 c240 and i was wondering if i can upgrade my bumper to the ones on the c230k or the c32 amg. Does any of those two bumper fit my car and if they do, can i just get the 2001 of those for my car? would the headlight and foglights fit correctly? would i need to do any custom work?
im pretty sure the c230k would fit but i dunno if the c32 amg bumper will fit good.

any help would be appreciated
thank you

As long as you get the appropriate supports for the bumper you're upgrading to. When I installed my brabus bumpers it came with brand new supports (but told me to use a certain one depending on Sport/Classic).

Sorry to hear that, but good luck on the upgrade!

It also depends if the bumper you're transplanting did/did not have Bixenons originally (washers). I believe Blake even had a bit of an issue when upgrading to an AMG bumper on his C230K back in the day.

It may also be possible to use your old bumper support by doing a bit of ghetto-modding, but I've never tried and I've done this process thrice.

Say you had a classic bumper and wanted an AMG/05 bumper now... the foglights look a bit different, don't they? Wouldn't we assume then that the factory mounting points for the foglights you currently have would be different as well?

I'm sure it's quite possible. There have been a few members on here who've done a facelift on their pre-05 c-classes.

it should be fine, again, depending on the brackets. but it should be fine, if it doenst fit, hit the dealers, for parts, it wouldnt cost you much.

but sorry to hear. but then...its a chance for upgrade!

well the problem is that im not going to be doing the bumper myself. I am going to have a family friend who is going to help me out. He has a shop but he was just going to order me the same bumper. im not too close to him and i dont want to have too much trouble for him. I was just hoping that it was just going to go straight on.
He doesnt know too much about the mercedes so he couldnt tell me if it fit. I dont want to order the bumper and than have it not fit.

He is actually my uncle but not the kind that i am close to.....if you guys know what i mean...its the family that i really dont know...

yea its complicated...

I believe all blake had to buy were the appropriate AMG brackets to go with the bumper - foglights and all that, well you'll have to ask for details for the people who've done it.

You need several new parts to install the front bumper -
1) Reinforcement Bar
2) Mesh Grilles
3) Side Markers (if yours are damaged, otherwise re-use)
4) Fog lights (AMG Bumper requires oval fog lights, not square)
5) AMG Bumper (the cover itself)
6) Clips to hold the mesh grilles to the bumper

And then paint, install and you should be all ready to go. I did a whole conversion kit to my car, see the forum below:

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...Bumper+Install

Also, remember if you had headlight washers to get a bumper with headlight washers!

The rear bumper is easier, your strips from the older bumper fit, however, you will need a new tow hook cover, and probably want to get the exhaust chrome oval tip from the C-Sport sedans - otherwise your car will look like it doesn't have a muffler...

Good luck! Ask if you have any questions.

Oh and should you NOT decide to go with the AMG Bumpers, then I have the C-Class bumpers (front & rear), perfect condition that I'm looking to sell for cheap. Let me know.

I think it's safe to say that if your car did NOT come with factory xenons or bixenons, you don't have headlamp washers. They're little trap door flaps on the top of the bumper portion just below the headlight grooves on each side... if you have no idea what I speak of, you probably don't have them (and this in turn makes your choices easier).

Me?

Wait are you guys talking about me?

Well even if not, yes I did a conversion from a 2003 C320 to a 2005 C320 - everything except the interior, well duuuu... In turn I ended up losing my headlight washers as the bumper I brought did not have the cut outs. Anyway, your car seems like it doesn't have headlight washers (especially if you didn't know about it).

I just listed the parts you need above (fog lights, mesh bumper grilles, clips, bumper reinforcement), click on the link to my thread and you'll get a LOOOT of information about the process and everything that's needed, including pictures of how things look.

I had foggy halogens and headlight washers and bought an AMG bumper without the holes. I retrofitted the covers and hinges on the new one. Took a lot of time and patience which is why i'd recommend you get one that already has the holes.

HEY! Lol, yeah at the Boston meet, we were all trying to figure out whether or not my car came with xenons and someone swapped them out, but I don't think so. Maybe there was some exclusive HEADLAMP WASHER package, but I still have my doubts.
