I was looking in to an 04 C230k sport sedan 6-speed and I thought that the options were kind of weird.

It has:
-bi-xenons
-rear power sunshade

Missing:
-Chrome exhaust tips
-sports peddles
-sport wheels

I'm not sure if this was the year that the mercedes big brake kit came up on the front for the sport sedan. I was under the assumption that they had the cross drilled rotors and the large caliper. Is this weird for the sport to be missing these things, could it also be that becaue the car is a 6-speed that these options were not put on the car. I'm assuming the bi-xenons are stock because it has the fully functional headlight washer.

I just thought it was weird for the car not to have the exhaust tips, sports peddles and the sport wheels.
What are your thoughts and opinons?

 

they added the full sport package on the c230 in the 2005 model year. You should look into a 2005 because of the AMG sport package. It makes the car look alot better. The interior is also way improved.

2004...No updates
2004.5...5 spoke rims, updated spring/shocks, 3 prong steering wheel (like coupes), 4 piston front calipers w/ bigger cross-drilled rotors.
2005-Present...AMG body kit, updated overall suspension, Interior re-design, switch to MOST (from D2B).

Now, please STFF. These things have been discussed ad nauseum.

They added upgrades in 2004.5. 2005, the only updates were the amg kit and the interior update/change to MOST system.

So, technically speaking, 2004.5 had the first major updates to the Sport Sedan. And 2004.5 models have the 4 piston calipers, along with some early build 2005's. Do your research and then maybe you can give some advice as to what model would be best for people.

 

I know that and I have done reasearch on this forum. I only said they added the FULL sport package in 2005. And the interior was redesigned in the 2005.

 

What is a "Full" sport package, by your definition?

Ever since 2001 there has been a "Full" sport package. There were updates from year to year. the 230K SS came back in 2003, but I'm just trying to understand what it is because there's a big difference between "updates" and claiming that the 2005 was the first year to be a "full" sport package.

 

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I just consider 2005, 2006 and 2007 "full" sport packages. I'm probably not using the right word because the previous ones were also full sport. But, i think the 2005-2007 c230s as a different category of c230's.

 

Either way, if you can afford it, go 2005+. The updated interior is awesome, and you'll save yourself a lot of money in the end since you wont have to change the lighting etc to the updated look.

 

Ah, I see. So us 2001-2004 Sport sedan owners are just inferior...Yeah, no problem.

 

haha at least you get free car washes and maintainance

 

2005+ still get free car washes.... at least they do down here in SoSoCali !

this is true! i just took my car for service, DIRTY, had it nice and washed when i got it back, they always do when i take it in. only prob, is that since i have the Ash interior, the techs seat inside and get my seats dirty!! ive told them to please put plastic or something! sometimes they listen.i just dont get free maitanance like the 2004 and 2004.5...and the 4 piston calipers
