does anyone have the part number (and MSRP) for the stock snorkel ?

I want to get a spare one and hack it up to make a direct path intake where the filter sucks in from the closer grill hole...

also: to remove the intake resonator on M111 engine, remove stock airbox. the bolt on the right and hoseclamp on the left. remove the intake assy on the passengers side of the car (left hand drive car that is), which is a torx bolt or two. then disconnect the six bolts holding the bottom peice (big peice of aluminum) in place. now take that off of the car and remove the plastic peice. find an aircraft locknut to seal the hole that would be left. tighten. re assemble. its really rather easy, but requires a toolbox that has both internal and external torx.

well, i'm off to go fly a mission. ciao!
heres for the intake resonator

acually you can get your car alot louder but itll be a hot air intake like mine lol...but hey just my input cut the plastic that comes from your engine top slide to AEM cone filter on each one remove the filters inside the box by removing the torque screws under and youve got the sound of more air into the engine

just take the stock "plastic" snorkle tubes off, and you'll notice a gain in sound. even with the stock airbox. that is what I have discovered.

actually, there is a higher risk with the stock tubes. I have discussed this topic with a known tuner on this site. dont want to point fingers or name names.

With the tubes off, there is more "space" for air, if you were anthuny85, you would understand what I mean. He has done this test. I even proved it to some local guys (who are mbworld members as well).

Working with this, I am developing something...some sort of a "better" intake for the M112 motors, and hope it fits the M113 motors as well.

Time to cut that hood. A couple of NACA ducts would work great.

I'm all for people trying new and inventive things with the intake, but you do realize that this is less functional than the OEM setup, right?

This in essence has changed your intake from a cool air intake to a short ram intake. Instead of sucking air directly from the grille inlets to tubing, this is sucking more air from the engine bay as well, which will obviously be hotter air. The whole idea is to get cooler air (which is more dense) to introduce more oxygen for the combustion of fuel.

The OEM tubing blocks more of the hot engine bay air than your current setup. It may sound cool, but just realize that you also may be losing power (especially on hot days).

i have two cones at home with 3" input and it's no go. the 07 v6 only got enough room for maybe a 2" filter cone on the left intake and that's about it.. oh well.
