Can't find aux input harness plug
I’m the proud owner of a new C230 and this is my first post and need help.
I followed all the Internet instruction to install the aux input plug in the glove box.
But when I opened the track that contains all of the wires, I didn’t find the white harness plug. I even looked behind the metal footrest.
Could it be somewhere behind the glove box? Is the aux input harness an extra option?
Please help.
Arthur

I had the same problem on my 07 C280, no place to plug in the harness. There was no issue doing it to my wifes 05 C240 with the same exact radio. Something changed on the 07. To bad for us.

i never really looked into doing aux on my 07. but i did activate the aux by holding down "cdc" for fun. haha
so what extra parts do we need to get this going? I doubt that there's an aux jack ready to be used.

i got an 07 C230 back in october and installed the cable, from what ive read is that if you hold the cd changer button and it says aux active you should have the wire somewhere. Just search, it should be there. BTW AUX part you need from mercedes is A 210 440 50 05 64.

Mine says AUX Inactive, does that mine I don't have the pre-wire? I though as long as the word AUX came up you were good and that it didn't state AUX ACTIVE until you actually connected the wire?

i just picked up the aux cable today at the dealer. i ripped opend the passenger side and did not find the white aux adapter for the cable. maybe your service guy is right that its now located behind the radio instead. if so, i will rip it open and check it out later

just confirmed it today.. well, at least for my 07 c230 anyway. It does not have the white plug ready in the lower passenger side panel for the extra aux cable to go in. I am gonna take out the radio next week to see what's going on there, I might need to get one more cable for this. I purchased the aux cable for 27 bucks at my dealer.

yes and no luck... here's a pic from below of whats behind the glove box after i removed the lower panel. the only surprise i found was a candy wrapper stucked in the lower panel piece...I should send that wrapper back to Germany.
i've also attached a pic of the aux cable i bought. according to the service guy, that part number is for 07 but the part itself is the same as the 05 one.

I dont think they would hide the wire up there but please do prove me wrong. My next step is to remove the radio as soon as I find my torx screwdriver set....

I asked the dealer and the diagram shows that i have to purchase the entire HU then it will come with the mid aux cable piece. he asked for an euro version of the part # so he can cross reference it to the usa # then order just that one piece for me.
no luck at this point. .. unless someone who has the mid cable is willing to take out their HU and get us the part # for that.
oh, and i did a DIY on removing 05+ HU. feel free to follow it and rip your HU out to check

I just did this yesterday. Keep in mind I have an 06. At first i could not find the plug. It took me a good 20 minutes to find it but i did. It was buried way under all the cables that are behind the foot rest part. Once i found it and hooked everything up it was a breeze.
