Sprint Booster or ECU Flash?

I'm not looking to gain power on my 06 c230 auto but I just want a solution to fix the throttle response lag on my car. I've searched and heard that Sprint Booster will improve the response, and the ECU Flash will be able to fix the response too plus more HP. What do you guys think? Should I get the SB or ECU?

Do you plan on keeping the car, or is it leased?

both to be honest. i've yet to do either, but have plans to do the ecu tune first. checkout SI's ecu tune. you can always do the SB later. and for HP gains, your better with the ecu tune. the SB provides no power gains, only the increase of throttle response

I like permanent, but I'm just one opinion.

if you don't care about HP gain, then I guess just go with SP, besides it's also cheaper

now the question is who makes the best headers? Supersprint? is the C32AMG and C320 Headers are the same?

they should be the same. it shows the same part number 022 843 301 for the headers. I would get supersprint since the one Evosport makes are not equal length.

btw, just looking through supersprint stuff. wow the new 335i stuff are expensive.

im getting th SI ecu tune as we speak...although its an NA engine...so it wont be nearly as impressive as it would be for you...but ill tell you how i like it...i would say ECU, because it actually increases power and trottle response and shift-points to make the car more aggressive in general, not just throttle response...and itll add HP and tourque...its not THAT much more espensive for the SI ECU tune either...go for the ECU!

If the only thing you wanted to do was decrease the throttle lag, sprint booster was the more financially easier decision, but for a few hundred more, you would've gotten both decreased throttle lag AND power.

You can always get tuning after the fact. I have been considering getting a sprint booster just to see how it works in conjunction with a tuned car.

Yeah, that's the plan, I just want to reduce the lag for now, then tune it later if I really want to increase the HP.

Extremely happy with the tune and it's not even completely done yet. Still has some slight tweaking to be done!

Actually, I was thinking of your car when I was typing that other response!...LOL.

Well, just remember that my tune is...well, it's a 'bit custom...so my accelerator is already kinda touchy as is. We'll see. I may decide to try it at some point.

If you're primary goal is better throttle response, get the sprint booster. The ECU flash does improve throttle response by changing the ignition maps, but the change is small in comparison to what the SB provides. The ECU flash does not actually change the throttle mapping despite what some have said.

Guys I didn't want to start another thread about SB's,so I'll ask my question here(I did search for sprint booster problems = 0).

I recently purchased(2 weeks ago) a Sprintbooster (from AMGSC,Robert, real nice guy and has a sweet C55) anyway I've been too chicken s*** to install it my 05' 230.On Saturday(on the advice I got from Robert when we meet) I visited STATUS in MB and spoke with Jesse,he mentioned that the SB has cause a few problems(I asked) like transmission lock up.So my question(s) is have any of you had any Sprint booster related problems since you've installed your booster? He(Jesse, also a nice guy) said they(STATUS) could "flash" my ECU and get a little bit better performance(approx 15 hp) out of my car, have any of you had this done by STATUS and what were your results.

I would appreciate any input/advice you guys can offer.
thanks,
Phin

The only problem I've had is decreased gas mileage due to a heavy foot. I've had my SB for 9 months now, no problems other than gas...
