W203 AMG Carbon Fiber Lip

Hey All,
I have STFF and can not find the answer that I was looking for. After all of my research I have seen many different types.
1. Solid fiberglass lip, primed and ready to paint.
2. Fiberglass lip with Carbon Fiber lay over (Hollow lip)
3. Fiberglass lip with Carbon Fiber lay over (Solid lip)

My question is, which one is better and does anyone make a complete solid real carbon fiber lip? Can someone tell me where the best place to buy it is? Also some lips say, "must drill into bumper" some say something like 14 clips into the back of bumper.

Any help would be great.... Thank you

You must drill into bumper for sure, I put like 10 screws under to make sure it's secured.

It's hollow. I bought it from fellow member. Check out our sponsor Euroteck.

well my lip is also hollow all the lips i have seen in person or on the web that all look the same so i just picked one that will look good,
and i have about 14-16 screws holding it up. because when i had 8-10 screws before my lip flew off on the highway when i was driving at 170Km/h so the second time around i really want to make sure that the lip did not come off. now its perfect and its on good, i know it wont fly off on me when i drive down the highway.

did anyone use the "body kit" double sided tape before screwing it in?

i had that on with the 8-10 screws and did not hold on strong enough. If there is any gap in front of the car between the lip and bumper, ur lip will fly off at high speeds.

ic, so did you just drill random holes and use nuts and bolts or self taping screws?

there are pre-drilled holes in the lip,you just drill through those into the bumper, then use self-taping screws.

All the holes are on the bottom of the bumper. You can't see it unless you look under.

I want to add one more comment about this solid or hollow cf lip. Why is it matter between hollow and solid? Trust me if you lower car, you'll scratch the bottom sooner or later. To custom the solid CF lip, probably be expensive, and not to mention, it's heavier. Eventually, I will have enough rock chips on the lip, I'll end up buying another one.

In my search for a CF lip, I have seen some places sell a solid, not hollow, lip. So I thought I would ask. It's not custom, it's as ready made as the hollow ones.

As anyone ever tried using a clear bra custom cut just for the CF lip? Or some sort of paint protection application that will help against some rock chips and curb scratches.

"sorry for digging up somewhat of an old thread"

Irvine roads aren't "that" bad
I have just a few scratches so far and sure enough I pay extra attention to the places that touched my CF lip in irvine now

so after seeing this thread, i got a few questions...

1) were there supposed to be predrilled holes under the lip?
mine didn't have any, and i made my own.. so this means that i don't have an "authentic" euroteck lip?

2) i actually have some spaces around my certain areas. i have gone over 120mph with it on, but so far so good. *knock on wood* should i drill more screws in? i have about 10 already

1) The one I bought from neal euroteckmotorsports.com like few weeks ago did have predrilled holes. Where did u buy urs from?

2) So is your lip even on both sides? I'm assuming you didn't drill holes on the side just the bottoms right? because on my description it says first step is to drill the side ones with the bigger screws. and all the other ones i think 6 of them, are the smaller screws. They go in the middle. Maybe if you did get the side ones then the middle ones you should have no space or just really tiny space like mine.

3) you in riverside or san gabriel man? come to irvine i'll show you

i made holes, if you're talking bout the side, i did do 2 on each side to get it in place. i have like really tiny spaces, but i've been gunning it 100+ with no problem, didn't even know it could fly off
