I would have them check everything and anything as stated above. When I had my ML320 I had the dealership look at everything right before the warranty ran out. They replaced some of the interior plastics because they were slightly loose even replaced my gray bumpers because they were "pealing" which they were not. They told me that you never know what might happen, the replacement bumpers may fall in some green paint to match the vehicle and sure enough, when the bumpers came in they were color matched to my vehicle........ all covered under warranty.
Hope your dealership is as cool as mine.

Just before mine went out of warranty, I had them do the same inspection they do if your going to purchase an extended warranty ... only because your still under warranty the inspection is free, along with fixing anything they find!

now that i think of it... extended warranty doesn't cover wear and tear items... so i'll have to be extra picky. for example i've had my armrest replaced under warranty, but this wouldn't be replaced under extended warranty.

is back today and here is the result, they flush my break fluid, fixed my passenger side mirror which failed to work when put the gear in reverse and replaced my leaky battery, in fact that is my second battery that they replaced same problem, Also I asked if they an change my coolant as well and my SA said they last for 15 years. I said you must be joking then my SA showed me the schedule maintenance. and its right there 15 years. MY 2003 and newer car the coolant will last for 15 years. I could not believe till I saw in the screen the work sked. for my model year. They said the car is in good condition except my front break and rootor need replacement. I said I will do it my self, and he said OK.

while the coolant may last forever, it doesn't mean that it can't be contaminated. My wording on that, would not be to replace my coolant,
but rather "inspect it for contamination, and let me see the results".
oil, water, or any other fluid in the coolant or vice versa causes bad things down the line............ ask my old Toyotas. Not comparing MB's to Toyotas, but basic engine build leads to these type of catastrophic failures.

At least he's got a manny so contamination is unlikely.

Suspension parts are usually first to go. Check control arms and end links. I had both my control arms and links changed before my warranty went out. My friend (service technician at the Dealer) said it was probably because of my harder suspension and 19's with low profile tires.
I can't believe someone would wait 15 years before doing a coolant flush and change. I do mine every 2 years in the spring.

Easy way to take care of that "laugh" is to also give him a plain envelope, with the word doc, with a couple benjamin's in there to make it possible to get Everything replaced!...HAHAHAHA

At my last Service B, (35k-36k miles) I just had my brake fluid changed under their FREE maintenance program. So I don't think it's a "WARRANTY" item.

I took mine in for it's final freebie service, 3 months ago when the factory 4/50K was close to expiration. No questions asked, they changed the instrument cluster because the fading had started to occur. They also readjusted the moonroof since my one touch had stopped working for 3 years.... lol. She said that a lot of people don't report their one touch failing on the moonroof even though it's a simple fix. 2 days after I got the car back, my rear sunshade started getting stuck open. Now, my starmark( or whatever it's now called) warranty has kicked in, so I have to get the time to drive the 120 miles to my dealer and have that covered. Then, I will drive the car for another year on top of that, before I toss it for something else. BTW guys..... I am now at 51K miles on this car with no other problems than the moonroof, cluster fading, and now the rear sunshade.

Check the prices for an extended warranty!
You're car may be okay this week but something can randomly happen. They're checking for things blindly, the error hasn't happened yet.

to get an official MB extended warranty, you could have only bought it the very first year of ownership. Other companies sell extended warranties and you can buy one of those now, but they have a lot of caveats and fine print.

My letter and compiled checklist... let me know if i left anything out
Below is my letter and compiled checklist for my last visit under warranty... hopefully this will help any of you whose final visit is creeping up.
thanks everyone on mbworld for helping me compile this list! if you guys feel like i need to add/edit anything let me know! any kind of comments/advice are welcome... my appointment is tomorrow morning
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Ned Liebman,
My factory warranty expires the 28th of this month. I was hoping that you could do a thorough sweep on my car to make sure that all the components covered under warranty are in working order.
I would like to request the general inspection that you would do if I were to purchase an extended warranty and to fix anything along the way that you find.
Could you also pull all the technical service bulletin's (TSB's) that have affected my CL203 chassis build numbers, and review each one over again? Just because it wasn't broken when the TSB was issued doesn't mean the problem didn't creep up later.
I have done some research online and talking to many other w203 owners over the past month and have compiled a list of some important inspection areas/details that I would like to be included in this last visit under warranty. Please refer to the next page for the details.
Thanks for everything!
Abrahm Behnam
------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT INSPECTION AREAS
Panoramic Roof
-Sunroof currently sticks on rear sunshade 1 out of 5 times
-Check panoramic roof thoroughly (i.e. check rails for rust and give them a good cleaning to ensure its properly lubricated)
-Check all components of panoramic roof
(I've had to replace parts 3 times since the car was originally
purchased from the dealer)
Power Steering
-Sometimes makes noises when turned and driving at extremes
(Just had them top off the steering fluid about a week ago)
Manual Transmission
-Check ALL manual transmission components
Suspension
-Check for bushing wear & tear holding the swaybars, endlinks, control arms and suspension rubber
(***If there is wear and tear this isn't normal, I have read that it is a manufacturing defect on the poor material construction, and that it can lead to other broken and damaged parts if not replaced***)
Electrical
-Potential instrument cluster fading
(I know many other W203 owners who have had to replace this under warranty and am afraid I might have to out of warranty)
Interior
-Replace any interior plastics that look worn
General/Other
-Check for contamination in the cooling lines/radiator
-Check plastic reservoirs for any leaks
-Replace rubber hoses/lines with new ones
-Replace any linings that look beaten up
(There is loose rubber lining on bottom of passenger door)
-Replace any missing clips
-Missing/Broken push-pins on the front under carriage.
-Ensure all electrical/electronics are working properly
-Flush the break fluid
---------------------------------------------------------------

It's covered under the warranty, my warranty had expired but I have the extended warranty and it was covered under that one. Cool thing with the new display is that it tells me when I turn off the car if my sunroof is open ! The old display didn't do that.
