Kinda too late for that now. I figured there was one for the 202s so why not have one for the 203s?

I predict club202 will go the way of the dodo bird too.... very little traffic and pretty much a boring site.

Alot of those who did use it exclusively had a reason to - they were banned here.

Shame, too - some of them had some good knowledge.

very good knowledge.....

some of the inmaturity and meaningless posts here on MBWorld drove really good modsters away, particularly those specializing on the C-Coupe.

I hope MBWorld reconsiders their value, and allows people to come back.

Yeh, same questions here over and over. "What kind of oil should I use,
I got a 1 quart low message!!!"

Acidently went to mbklasse, saw this on Terry's site...

Actually this forum has 289K posts, wow, that's a lot. MBKlasse was sort of a refuge for people banned from mbworld. For me I mostly go to benzworld because when you have more than one MB, this forum lacks, for example, SLK posts here are dismal, maybe 2-3 per week.

The site that i'm making has a whole page dedicated to that, with pics and everything, but it doesn't seem that people are too enthusiastic about having a site just for 203s.

Honestly, there are so many bs threads here to sort through, and so much info that was only on MBKlasse, that I'd welcome something similar for W203s only. Not sure how many other people would be, though.

As long as you'd be kosher with low traffic volume, your site would be a good addition.

Thanks, i'm setting it up a little differently, kinda similar to e46fanatics. I'll have a DIY section of the site rather than just a DIY thread, that way maybe it'll be a bit easier to find things.

it's sad but we move on , and it protects him from ending up being guilted into keeping a site up for a bunch of reminissant 80 year old C class owners in 2087 :p

To some degree, we have that, with the DIY stickie. Maybe if the DIY was outlined in color or something, we would get more attnetion to it.

People do things on the vehicle, but don't post the DIY, or Pics.

I know I'm guilty of that.

Of all these forums, THe C Class is likely on of the most to be self maintained after the warranty period was out.

Personally, i would put up more DIY, lord knows I take the pics during the work, but I'll be honest here. I always have the feeling that somehow I'll get a banning, and then the work I did stays, but I"m adios.

Yes, I know off topic, but something that occurs to me.

I guess I haven't studied the TOU very well. Why would you get banned for posting DIY pics?

If it means anything, the TOU isn't an absolute document either, the moderators and staff have discretion in the amount of punishment that comes with a TOU violation.

Of course, someone who contributes significantly appears much differently than someone who registered mere hours ago to troll.

fwiw.

As I answered in a few PMs, I'm going through various Wiki softwares to find out which one will suit us the best. I'm going to make sure it's got an open backend as well so worst case scenario, someone can just clone the database and start it up on their own coin.

VRAA, 27K posts and this is the first I've seen you on this forum. I've also been looking at different wiki and forum software for my community. Here's the wiki on the wiki software that wikipedia uses - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki

Yeah, I like Mediawiki, but it's a little difficult for to handle tables and what not, if we had some html guru's to help us out this would be no sweat.

I wanted to buy an OEM Mercedes Radio for the coupe, + the changer, but now where am I suppose to get one? DACHIGGA was negotiating with me. I come back one day...and it's gone.

Where am I supposed to go now too, in order to get my pulley put on?

agreed! i rarely visited mbklasse, but when i needed any info or more specifc info, it was way easier to search there then sift through mbworld [no offense]. If any of you have noticed, the C & E class are really whats keeping the site active. Lots of posts, however, I've noticed since my membership, there are a lot of 'off topic' threads that pop up in here that really need not be posted. Sometimes it does shy some of us away at times, I know it does to me.

In the last week how many NEW threads can we count about a newbie saying "i just got my car, what should i do now?" it gets old answerin the same questions, when people dont take time to search. I remember when i first joined, I went back about 25 pages worth of thread, just to read up on everything I could get my eyes on.

I dont completely agree with Terry closing his site, however, I can totally see where he's coming from. There were no sponsors, which more or less made the site 'cut and dry'... Straight to the point, which is what it should be. Granted we all had our fair share of input, D.I.Y.'s, topics, questions, etc. But he was one who put in his own money and time to start the site up and keep it running. If he chose not to keep it running, you cant be mad at him. Its like if one of us sells our C class and gets anoter car... Are we then gonna be mad at that person? No. Defiently not.

It would be cool to see if we can somehow add that info to this site. I mainly only stay on this site becuase there is always some sort of action. However, that action isnt always vital to that of the C class nature. Sometimes lame/newbie questions that just get annoying to even see pop up.

Maybe one point to not to admin/mod's... maybe church up the color scheme a lil? Even though mbklasse was pretty much the same as this site, visually it was clean. Sometimes this site reminds me of like playing an old atari game.

sorry for my long and drawn out two cents. its been a long day.

So _why_ did it go away?

I'm a (former) mbklasse person, and also an occasional reader of mbworld. Exactly what was the reason for mbklasse going away?

Same here. I liked MBKlasse because it was straight to the point. Not all the jibberish found here.
Jibberish has it's place in the OFF TOPIC forum, but it just seems to spill continously into the C & E forums, and not cleaned up enough.

way too many ! Newbies don't search, and it just clutters up the site !

MBWorld should provide an amnesty to all those people banned from here for what I believe was pretty much inmature and silly reasons. (On both sides of the house). Regaining all that info from MBKlasse and getting it archived on this site, would be of huge value to all. Starting a new site from scratch is a noble effort, but why re-invent the wheel, and continue the disparate information banks ? What happens when those sites go belly up too ?
