that's why I hate the 17 different Mercedes-Benz online forums....
it's counter-productive in the end....

Well he just has to make the database file themselves available, it's not like he can own the content, that's why forums always say they aren't responsible for the content individuals post.

I don't understand his decision to not share the content, or turn it over. Hell, people have even offered to pay.
Seems rather egotistical to me.
Lets build up the C Content here. If not here, then what site?

Whoever could plan and organize something like this has my full support, if you need anything in terms of sticking threads or moving posts around, I'd be glad to help out. I don't know enough about the C-Class to offer any intelligent assistance though

That'd be a really good idea to start making thread detailing the history or whatever of the C-Class.

If we had the availability to do such a thing I'd be interested in heading it up.
BTW while mbklasse was great, I think its for the better. Hopefully those members who used it exclusively will come here, which will only build the knowledge on this forum.

It pisses me off, all the DIY info etc. lost.
Many people contributed a collective database of info, and
the owner kills it....why?
Ego? I don't understand the reasoning.
Kill because not enough traffic?
But then, he's not selling anything, no ads,
not sponsors, not a money making venture.
So what does the post count matter?
He could have sold ads, had click throughs, affiliate marketing,
pop ups (thank god not!) , google etc, and the site would have more than paid for itself. Nope, time to die. Wasn't willing to let someone else take over, and though he'd already announced his intention to kill it, didn't want to give it away, though certainly no intention of making any money off the site. Geez.
So then, it comes back to ego.
What, we're not writing enough new stuff to keep the boss happy so time to die?
What a bunch of total BS.
While said owner contributed a place for discussion, and paid for said
place, it was the members who actually created content.
I don't think Terry's post count exceeded 1000, did it?
He was mostly non-existant in day to day discussions.
3 years in the shop, and then sold.
What a waste. A waste of knowledge, a waste of time. My time and the time of many many others who contributed into the void of nothingness.
Which is why I say, Terry,

both were great forums, but pretty much duplicating the same efforts that MBWorld provides.
the same can be said about BenzWorld and BnzSport

At it's peak csportcoupe.com was probably the most fun I have EVER had on any forum....sad to see it go but hopefully that makes this section stronger and more active.

I'm sad to see that site go. A lot more tech talk on there than the common stuff that goes on here.
