I went for about 25 miles in 21 minutes and got 36.1 miles/gallon. Yes, I was up to speed when I reset the computer, but it still blows my mind. Our 4-bangers get insane mpg figures.
Edit: I have quite a bit more than half a tank and I'm already at 150 miles since my last fill up. Gotta love it.

We should all write letters to MBUSA advocating them to import the more fuel-sipping 4 cylinder model. True, it's got less hp than the V6 engines, but the improved fuel economy allows me to go much longer distances between fill-ups and I dislike filling up.
For those thinking I should perhaps consider the diesel that might be coming stateside in a few years, I'd still like to have a petrol model to consider.

On freeway though I get between 30 - 33 mpg everyday driving 25 miles to work. Ofcourse I have to drive in grandma mode (Optional C007 package - W/S/G) 65 mph @2500 RPM.
Sometimes I hate the mpg indicator on display so much... it discourages me from driving hard.

2003 C240
Yesterday, I did a day trip to Mt. Washington in NH. (Hiked it). All in all, I did close to 400 miles of driving through the mountains including the trip to and from Boston, and I got 32mpg most of the time.
It was much less in the early morning, I left my house around 430, and my average speed was 72 mph over 150miles before I got close to where I was beginning my hike, lol.

'03 c230k ss here, used primarily (95%) in small-town driving. Longest trip is ~5 miles from one end of town to the other, several stop lights, many stop signs, probably average 30-40 mph. I consistently get 23-24 mpg in town. The times I've taken it out of town I've got over 30, and I usually drive pretty fast. That's in 'S' mode (I have automatic). In 'W' mode I get ~3 mpg less in town.
Power-wise, I was used to driving an '87 Acura Integra around town before we got this, so IMHO it has plenty of go-juice. Funny thing is, the 230 with automatic gets the same mpg as the Integra with stick (I think the Integra did a little better on the hwy).
