I have cheap blue halogen bulbs from autozone or pepboys. They are really ambiguous. The only way you can tell that they are not HID's is when I drive next to a car at night with HIDs and you can see that the road in front of my is not as bright. But still to the average person, you cannot tell the difference. All my friends think I have HIDs.

I put in my DEPO's yesterday. I don't have any complaints thus far but they seem to be poorly made compared to the OEM lights. I'm not surprised by any means because they are significantly cheaper. I've got PIAA's in there and the beam is ok but nothing to brag about.

I also just installed my DEPO's a few days ago. I've got an 8k HID kit in there.
+1 for comments above, they not bad, but you get what you pay for in regard to Mercedes quality.

Okay, once again. Save your money and get OEM bi-xenon through Steve (MBenzNL). Then you won't have any trouble.
The above set is $559.95. The set you got before is what, around $350? That comes out to a little over $900 you've spent on headlights that are aftermarket?
Someone else confirm this, cuz I had stock BI-X, but how much are the OEM BI-X from Steve? I'm pretty sure they are in that range. Not positive, but I'm pretty darn sure they are in that range.

and worth every nickle. Best mod I've done and includes looks AND performance. Steve is an absolute pleasure to do business with, he deserves our support for bringing us OEM quality at an outstanding price vs. Taiwanese garbage that is just plain terrible ricer junk.

The precision optics of the OEM's are outstanding.

a Depo, they are known to have poorly designed projector units. both the bowl
and the lens sux big time. so by fitting in a premium or brighter appearing
bulb, it accentuates the hot spots (and poor coverage) even more. I guess
that's the price we pay for buying Depo (myself included)....though I just got
tired of them and yanked out the projectors and tossed them in the garbage.

Will I be able to safely navigate the streets with a pair of depos until I can afford an HID kit?
There are depos on ebay for like 230 and ones that are like $350...does it matter which one i get?

If you're going to spend 230 or more on those, why not wait two or three weeks, or however long until you can get the bi-x...thats what I would do, just wait...give your car the best, especially after hearing those testimonials..I know stock frosted headlights aren't the best looking, but I would wait...

yeah, i wasn't guessing on the color but the horrible light beam. but since it's

**Found a cheap place to get HIDs!!!!
I just received and installed my pair of 6000k HIDs for $109 shipped (from HERE). I am very satisfied. No ECU Error, and they look great. I have no need to use my highbeams anymore.
ps- I will add pictures soon.

Those are the ones I had.
I had some serious problems...check my other thread on that.
Supposedly according to the seller I'm the only one.
The price went down 10 bucks.
Wow.
I'm still waiting for my relay kit.....
