I think it looks sick!.... but i definitely wouldn't go for a "better deal" with the possibility of sacrificing the turn-out/quality of the final product. if you can find a place that has done this type of paint job before (or can guarantee satisfaction) AND can do it for under 3k... it might be worth it.
