Anyone know how to disassemble rearview mirror?
Anyone? Also, the center ceiling console? I'm going to try to intergrate a down-firing 12v red LED into the bottom of the mirror assembly.

BUT
since we're web based, at the rear of the large lamp cover, there is a keyway (about a coin size hole).. pop the large lamp cover off from that side (front).
Inside that compartment, there is a pair of sliding latches inside. SLide them each inward and the whole thing pivots down.
-- instead of red - try to find an amber LED... BMW uses Amber -- audi probably uses red, but their dashes are red backlit.
Post pix and details please. I'd especially like some diagrams on using the proper circuits (resistors LED model#'s etc...) to get the right dim level without frying something!
