hid upgrade question
when you upgrade your lighting to HID's, do you have to change the light housing to the projector style depo's or something, or can you keep the stock halogen housing? Because I currently have the old frosted style headlights, and am going to purchase the facelifted clear ones... I just want to know if I want to go HID in the future, am I going to have to buy yet another set of headlight housings? Thanks
FYI, I used the search engine, and didnt find an answer.

It depends on the bulb, some are designed for projectors while others are designed for reflectors.
You can fit an aftermarket kit in your facelifted housings but glare to oncoming traffic may be an issue...

There are kits on the market that purport to convert incandescent (halogen) housings to high intensity discharge (xenon) lamps. They do not properly form the beam to give proper illumination of the road.
It is possible to do a legal conversion to Bi-Xenon, but in addition to the housings you need to install sensors on the front and rear axles for self-leveling, and replace the front bumper to install the headlight washer system. Both are required on a Bix car to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108. Installing the headlight washer is easy compared to the swear words uttered by normally sane people when installing the required wiring harness for the rear axle.
I would not use anything Depo on my car. The housings they make are made by duplicating the factory parts. They use a process that results in a slightly larger part than the original. This is not good for a reflector. Your satisfaction will be greater using the OEM parts from Automotive Lighting.
