Yup, heat gun works, I basically push-formed the material "in" with the help of a hammerhead. It probably worked for both the softer and harder material.

Ok thanks...I'll give it a shot when I get a chance, who knows when that will be, but I will try and remember to post how it worked out, lol

I had a problem with my fender lining rubbing when I upgraded to 19s. I just got replacement rivets at autozone and fixed it. no problems since. I guess thats the price you pay for cool rims...

The Mrs. just brought 'er back home from a spring break road trip. I was kinda enjoying the bachelor life, but she mentioned during one of our conversations that it may have scraped the bumper while parking at the lodge. That, and the ‘Ft. Rt. indicator lamp out; Visit Workshop!’ malfunction indicator was glaring. “No worries,” I encouraged, “just get home safely.” The consumables’ bin always has some spare 2825s readily available. I’ll get it squared away in under a minute, or so I thought.

Come to discover the entire bumper seriously askew, and the RF fender liner completely missing. It must have gone to that great recycling bin that exists along every highway - never to be seen again. Oh snap, she messed it up pretty badly this time. Since nary a negative word is uttered after each of its (my) beloved performance enhancing modifications, absolutely nothing is mentioned to her about what it entails.

Alas, only my hearty MBW bros can bear witness to its repair details…

...MB's revised part numbers:

#110- 'cover'
203 881 03 23 (LH)
203 881 04 23 (RH)

#100- 'wheelhouse'
203 884 05 22 (LH)
203 884 06 22 [/B](RH)

#150- 'rivet'
124 990 04 92, four per side

As penance, she’s fixing up some serious BBQ and has offered a refreshing beverage.
Should she ever be trusted with an E55?

The whole thing, John? Even though it's not the hardest of DIY's, still a pain in the butt. Thanks for posting the part #'s though.

Either way, I've already replaced the right twice!...LOL, so just to make you feel a little better that it can happen to anybody.

Fortunately, just the right side. The exterior mating edges where the fender meets the bumper were completely separated. Imagine my shock when I want to help with her luggage! When the liner exited it allowed the wheelhouse to rub the tire. The uppermost lining mounts were worn away in the process, necessitating the wheelhouse replacement as well.

I merely included the numbers for both sides because I have a funny feeling about future brail parking attempts. When she (correctly) asserted that its altered ride height may have been a contributing factor to the mishap, I promptly responded by asking how that would cause the wheels to bang curbs?

It’ll be 15 years in May. Oh, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change…

John, I hate to laugh because the first part of your story was so painful to hear, but I laugh because your 2nd paragraph is such a great example of an understanding husband! Hey, you must be doing something right!...LOL. Although, just speaking from other "husband" stories I've heard, it seems like things like this always end up in good "justifications" for new mods!

Again, thanks for sharing the story...although, it does make me want to stay away from marriage for as long as I possibly can avoid it!...

Are the part numbers for a 2002 C230 coupe the same? I need to replace the driver's side fender liner (#110 in the diagram). Thanks...

Some part numbers differ according to chassis style, build date, and/or VIN.

Let us know if you’d care for more information to source the appropriate part(s).

Very simple DIY. No, you don't have to remove the bumper to install it, just need to turn the steering wheel all the way to access the inside wheel well lining screw holes.

Damn I lost another "cover". The local dealer said the pn is 2038810323
for the coupe. But Splinters diagrams show 2038841522
and that pn is more expensive.

Are they the same for all 203's? Or is the coupe one and the sedan one different?

I need this ASAP. The drivers side has lots of wires exposed in there.

Geez, Beschoff wants 82.50 + tax for this thing.
What, like 90 bucks!!

Parts.com is 43, and Annapolis is 47.25.
Our local dealers just suck.
EDIT: Just went ahead and ordered from parts.com

Crossing my fingers.

Greetings all,

I recently decided to replace both of my wheel liner fenders, after being off for an undisclosed length , but I'm having a little issue deciding which part number is the most accurate.

I almost purchased 2038810323/2038810423 but I read somewhere (dated early 2015) 2098841322/2098841422 was the correct part number.

Could anyone give me the right part number? I looked them up on parts dot com and they seemed similar but prices were clearly different.

Also, if anyone could tell me how many screws, and rivets, I would need to replace said part would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

I'd go based on the graphs. splinter posted the information earlier in the thread, but Ive done this so many times with the part numbers mentioned above, that I don't know if there were any changes that were made for 2005-2007 models.

Why don't you call a dealership and verify which part number is correct, specifically for your vehicle?
