Wheelwell Cover Replacement!
Hi guys,
I kind of damaged my front right wheelwell cover today. This is a cover that you have to unpin and pull out when changing a foglight bulb. Anyone knows where I can get a replacement for this cover?Dealership?
THX.

I really don't know. Is that how you guys call it? The inner fender cover! I know this is a cover you have to pull out if you want to change a foglight bulb. Same thing?
Maybe I should take a pic of it.
THX for the reply

Does anyone know the part number of this inner fender cover? I guess I will just try to go to a dealership without the part number today.

typical scenario: you lower the car, you put bigger rims on the car, your tire rubs on the front plastic liner, the plastic wears down and the 3 screws come off, and the plastic liner gets owned.

Less likely scenario: For my first ever substantial repair after getting the car, I removed the RH liner in order to gain access to the intercooler fluid pump. Thanks to this forum, and 1FASTC32 in particular, for sharing a DIY procedure that resulted in saving ~$400 by not installing a MB dealer supplied pump.
Got everything back together, or so I thought, and it was time for a test drive. Here we go. Runs great and has its spunk back. Weee…let’s try that again. Found a nice deserted stretch where it was safe to go past xxx mph. Along about then, the liner broke loose from its heretofore functional plastic retaining pin mounts, and utilized the rapidly spinning tire for support. What a horrendous noise! My first thought was that I blown the motor.
Much to my relief, I promptly discovered that merely reusing the $1 rivets (#124-990-04-92) to reinstall the liner (#203-884-08-22) was not only false economy, but also resulted in a net savings from my DIY of ~$370. Shortly thereafter I felt compelled to join the forum, and have been dispensing unsolicited and marginal mechanical advice ever since...

I hit a pile of snow last winter when I had my 16s on my car. I didn't realize I had my 16s when it happened and I didn't raise my suspension when I put the 16s on. I lost some clips because of it and I just left it like that until last night when it fell off.
BTW, I just bought one inner fender cover for 43.XX CAD from a dealership today. I did call Duval Motorcars to compare and it's 55,XX USD .

Yup, I figured w/ my 8.5" wheel and et 28 that I would rub (the forums told me this), so right when I put my wheels on I drove around the block and took some slow u-turns both ways. After I came back to the garage, I could see where the tire rubbed the plastic wheel well covers. Use a heat gun + baseball bat to push it back an inch-ish? Good to go, hopefully mine wont fall out or anything.
Goodness nibo... a pile of snow took off some clips... thats a big pile of dense snow.

Anyway, CAD $43 sounds okay though.

Just installed my new cover and took me a while to get it done . I still have all 3 screws and use zip ties to replace the plastic pins.
Coin: I asked the guy twice to make sure, he said 55,XX USD and they don't
ship internationally. I was going to tell the guy that you got one cover
from them from alot cheaper, but then when they said they don't ship
to Canada, I never mentioned that
THX for all the help guys.

the screws are attached to the upper liner which has nothing to do with the bumper, but the plastic pin you'll see on the original bumper you won't see it on mine. I had to cut the entire lower AMG support to have room to house the carlsson bracket for the foglight.

Hey guys....After changing my headlights, I seem to be rubbing on the fender liners (only on complete turns)...I'm going to be checking something on the headlights, so I might be going through the headlight DIY again very soon, and then I will see if I maybe didnt put something back on right or something, which I doubt. But what is this heat gun thing and baseball bat trick I read about several posts past?? Does this work?

If the people are smart, they'll know what you're talking about. Only once, I've gone into my dealership and they didn't know what I was talking about. But that one time, I nearly died laughing as I left, because the guy didn't know that the C-Class had fake leather, lol. Anyways, they should know what screws you need...I need the screw that you first unscrew on the front of the car....it fell in the bumper somewhere...

With help from my parts Therapist, Steve Foster,
I've gotten in touch with my inner fender.
I feel better just knowing it's fixed.
Replaced the right one...it disappeared one night at speed after getting caught on a concrete parking burm.
I asked my buddy, do you hear that? As the plastic dragged at 75mph, only to be followed with a sound of it being torn in half, and spit out from the undercarriage at speed. SPooootoing!
no biggie. Remember though there's pn for right, left, year, and coupey.
I have extra screws if anyone needs them.

Didn't want to hijack MJ's thread, and also keep the information organized so.............this "heat gun" method that mig speaks of in MJ's thread....I recently picked up a new liner, and the new liner is basically a hard plastic, while the older one is of a different softer material....does this heat gun method only work on the new hard plastic????? because if so, I'll try the heat method on the side I have now, and then if I can get it to work, I'll just go get the other side too...thanks...
