What performance parts are out there for 06 C230?

Hello everyone, I am new to this site and to Mercedes-Benz. I just bought a 2006 C230 about 9 months ago. It has a V-6 and is completely bone stock down to the air filter. Initially I bought the car for gas milage but now i am wanting power and don't care about gas milage considering my previous truck got 11mpg on the highway. Without sounding pompous, power is nothing new to me. I own a 10 sec 1994 Cobra (which i did all the work) currently as well. My main question is what quality performance parts are out there for my car? I am speaking of basic things also I'm not trying to build a street car here just things like filter, cold air, gears, exhaust, maf, throttle body and so on. These are the parts im looking in order. Like I said I just want to do some basics nothing internal.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Tanner

I have the same car as you with no performance parts yet. It is a sluggish car stock but im sure with some performance upgrades you can make it somewhat quick. If I was you first thing i would do is go to Discount auto and order an Air filter. I think the 2 choices are Green filter and K&N. Next thing you will need if you want to whoop people on the interstate is an ECU because it takes off the 135 MPH limiter and also increases throttle response. You can get a sprint booster but I don't know if they actually work or not you will have to read for yourself (there are many posts on them). The Sprint booster if it works is a cheap upgrade for throttle response (I think around 250$). There are pulleys out there but I dont know the brands, although a pulley might be quite a DIY. Then there are things like nitrous which you could maybe use if you had the correct setup. As for air intakes you would have to make your own custom setup, but you really cant get much better than what comes stock. Since your pretty familiar with performance vehicles the installations for what I have listed should be fairly simple.

C230 and performance shouldnt be in the same sentence. C230's are dogs. Honestly, if your looking for performance, maybe upgrade to a CLK or something of the sort. C-Classes are entry level teenager Mercedes. They arent meant to be fast. Live with it, or buy the C63 coming out. I am willing to bet that thing will be ferocious, not to mention the 204 body doesnt look too shabby either.

SLR its possible to make a c230 decent. There are other c class cars such as the C55 and C32 which are pretty quick...

ecu/filters/exhaust and pulleys will make it fun to drive, the car wont be a monster but youll prolly gain a decent 30-40hp, which is what this car needs.

you can always kleeman sc it and itll be fast, but were talking 8k.
