"Not clean" as in blocky silver letters/numbers all to themselves on one side of the trunk's rear. Just a silver star in the centerline of the trunk rear is cleaner. Get it? I have always removed dealer stickers or emblems from the rear of my cars too. Though some people would still probably "assume" that I would leave the dealer decal on if it said "Mercedes of Beverly Hills"

And 95% of the time you'd be right. I see debadged cars all the time, and have fun trying to figure out what it is. With BMWs its easy because there is always something in the window trim, muffler, or other pieces that give it away. 95% of the time, its the smaller engine car that are debadged.

Funny how it is, that almost always its the smaller engined crowd that likes the "clean" look of debadging. BMW 540, 330, M, MB C320, 500 series, etc. drivers never seem to favor the "clean" look.

Funny how it is that way. What an odd coincidence.

I like symmetry, and that does not come on the S600 as far as badging goes. Having the S600 badge on the left side of the trunk, the star in the middle, and nothing on the right side of the trunk does not look symmetrical. I guess a lot of S600 and CL600 owners complained (I did), because on the 2003 S600 and CL600, there will be a "///V12" badge on the right side of the trunk lid that looks very similar to the AMG badge.

As for people who say the "KOMPRESSOR" badge on the C230k's look odd, I have a question for you. If you had the C32 AMG Coupe, would you think the "/////AMG" badge looked odd, even though it had only two less charectors than Kompressor? Would you remove the /////AMG badge because it looks odd?

Like I said above, I like symmetry, therefore the dual exhaust of the C32 AMG just doesn't work for me. This is why I am getting a custom quad exhaust from Evosport. On the C32, there are two pipes on the left side rather than one pipe on each side. If there was one pipe on each side, I would be happy.

I thought that all NA LHD C230k's were built in Brazil and all RHD versions were built in South Africa.

No, they are built at Sindelfingen. We saw them on the production line (left-hand drive at least).

I think that the V12 badge on the back of the 600 models will look good.

As for you asking If people think the KOMPRESSOR badge looks odd, if i had a C32 AMG coupe i would not think the AMG bagde looks odd because if u were to lay it flat over the KOMPRESSOR badge its almost half the size as the KOMPRESSOR badge, i dont care how many charectors it is, i am just going by looks. I like the size of the KOMPRESSOR on the V6 KOMPRESSOR badges on the C32 sides, its alot smaller than what comes on the C230's and the Font of it almost looks alot nicer, rather than the boxy letters on the C230 KOMPRESSOR badge. Personally i think the rear of the C230 is my least favorite part of the car so even if i had the C32 AMG coupe i would like the look of the rear better with out the badges but the only thing that would stop me is that i would not want dumb people mistaking it for a C230. De-badging the C230 is alot different than alot of other cars just because it can not really look like a Poser, since there is only one model that looks like it , unless the C320 Coupe comes out it will be different then.


Also SoCalC240/6 i would agree that most people with the lesser car de-badge their car, but then again there's alot of people with the Higher end models that also de-badge. A perfect example is my Neighbor who has a S55 AMG which is about a month old and he de-badged it completly some people can mistake it for a S class with the AMG body kit.

Personally I like the look of the Kompressor badge on the back of my car. The only reason I would remove it is if I wanted to put my Kleemann badge on there somewhere. But then I would probably put Kompressor badges on the fenders like the V6 Kompressor ones that are smaller, but without the V6 part.

The vin starts out as WDB which means Germany!! I would not buy any Mercedes product unless it was made in Germany. That is a true 100% Benz not a want-a-be. By the way mine was built in Bremen, Germany.

That's what I'm saying, its just appears to be an odd coincidence that the group of people that buy the lower priced, smaller engine cars also are the same group that favors the cleaner look.

Although there must be a reason for it. Maybe the people that buy the smaller engined, less expensive model just naturally have a more "minimialist" aestetic sense - thus they tend to like the "cleaner look." Yeah, that's probably it.

Or, maybe to save costs, the glue that's used on the "318" number is weaker than the "330," and the glue used on the "C240" is weaker than on the "C320," and the lower priced ones just fall off.
