WINDOW TINTS...Need advices and referencees
i have a C230 coupe Citron Green...
i need some mb members to post some pics of ur coupe to see how much % or what color i should tint it ..
what i have in mind is Limo black in the back 3 so i can match the panorama..
then maybe 50 or 75 % in the front ..
i know the top roof is about 35 or so percent... i can still see through it at night ..
but i need privacy lol .. soo yaaa..... i know a green car catches alot of attention already...
post some pic ect.. the back i dont really care how dark it is as long as i can still see at night when im backing out .. but what im worried is the front ..
i still want the classy look and see through but still not obvious enough to get caught by cops
imho 15% is the best for tint. Not too dark and not too light. YOu get all the privacy want, when other looks in the just see the outline of yor face so its a win win when you want to make faces at people.
With your window shade up in the back, it looks closer to 10% or 5% looking in from the rear.
In MD 35% is legal, everything else is illegal. So 20% will usually not get you ****ed with.... 5% you won't even make it a week without a repair order. Not sure of the rules in your state.
but ppl just break the rules there not that strict here... but yaa..
im planning 5 in the bak for sure .. and maybe 50 or 75 in the front .. but
WHAT IS MOLE SKIN ... never heard of it ..

I did 15% in the back (limo tint is 5%, smaller number is darker) and 35% in the front. It's hard to see out the back, but it's ok. But keeps prying eyes from seeing cargo I may be hauling.
35% in the front is dark, but the cops can still see you, so
I think thats a big thing for them. It's really obvious if you have it 15% in the front. And if you get in an accident cause you couldn't see.....welll that could be bad. So far, I haven't been pulled over.
I got my tint done at MBWerks (ex AUTOWERKS DIRECT / EXPRESS) by a sub-company called: "Lou's Custom Window Tinting". MBWerks in San Diego (Kearny Mesa) has since closed their business, so I'm not sure what happened to Lou.
Last known address was:
Lou's Custom Window Tinting
5329 Huaracha Court
San Diego, CA 92124
My window tint is 43% on the front & rear side windows and included moleskin to prevent window roll up/down scratching. The tint on the back window with special care with Mercedes back-window electronics is 35%. The 35% on the rear matches perfectly with the stock tint on the pano-roof. All professionally done about 3 years ago for $300 total. The tint looks as good today as the day it was put on. I'm extremely happy with the quality. I believe the type of film used was HP Charcoal by SOLAR GUARD (Bekaert Specialty Films, LLC) with a limited lifetime warranty.
