yes one can go crazy on upgrades but my point is that the W204 is so different that it ages our car very quickly. My exercise of comparing the 2 in my photoshoot is to illustrate how different and somewhat plain stock vs new stock looks. I am not the modding type of guy, rather spend my $$ on my house or sailing or other toys, but not on an item that depreciates like a rock.
You can spend $1000's on a W202 or W201 upgrading and modding it, but in the end it still looks dated to our W203. Just as our W203 will quickly look old to the W204.
I still like the way my car looks and enjoy it and when it is alone it looks great and has nice lines, put it beside the W204 and it suddenly ages. I think that if Mercedes kept with the oval lights then the new one would not look so much different and one can see the lineage. Just like the W210 to the W211 was an evolutionary change and had similar style elements.
Heather Locklear or Michelle Pfiefer look great but put them beside Paris or Jessica side by side and all of a sudden they then look old and weathered.

But as for your comparison of females, well, if you look at it that way it's fine...but at the same time, anybody that would refuse it from any of them would be completely nuts...LOL. Besides, no matter which one it is, doesn't mean it all translates to the bedroom the same.
Just like a car, a girl can look young, new, fresh, etc...but could be completely horrible behind closed doors. At the same time, you take an older female that looks hot, older, more mature...she may look more whethered and "dated" sitting next to a newer, younger female, but behind closed doors...could be 10X's better...LOL.

The funny thing is, I live in L.A., so I can't really relate to a hot older or younger chick analogy. In L.A., a "hot girl" is just a "hot girl". Same with a "hot car". From my perspective, an old Ferrari can NEVER be "outdated". And a nicely modded and "unique" car can never get "outdated" either.
I think the comparison with Heather Locklier/Michelle Pfeifer vs. JAlba/Paris is too far apart a comparison. It would be more like, Jennifer Garner/J-Lo vs. Jalba/Paris (when comparing w203 vs. w204).
Granted, it makes me cringe to compare JAlba to the w204 because her lines aren't as rigged as the w204. They're more smooth and soft like the w203

Yesterday, I took my car in for the fading center armrest repair. While waiting, I took the new w204 c300 sport for a 10 minute test drive. The ride was pretty much the same as mine. I felt no difference. Interior wise, same old same old. All the seats were carry-over; the dash look too funky; and i don't like that pop-up nav screen, though I love the DVD-less harddrive with 4gigs just for MP3s and that memory slot. The screen protrudes like a sore thumb; don't like it. Outside, the front is quite aggressive, but like others mentioned....too Lexus-ish like! And the rear, it's ulgy! Can't seem to get over that taillight. And yes, the side mirrors remind me of a big SUV.
Overall, I'm not drooling over it. Maybe it'll grow on me. lastly, I wouldn't say my old w203 is outdated as it still attracts alot attention from passer-bys.

donno why ur comparing, the W204 i think is an AMG version or having AMG body kit, while urs is plain bone stock, with no clear lens/projector, and stand up emblem as well. get a C32 or C55 for comparison would be little more fairer

lol in this picture i think i like drex's car more than the w204 =P

I can only do what I can do. Tough crowd here. The photos were not planned I just happened to see one out of the blue and thought that the members would enjoy the quasi comparison, I did not even think that they are in the dealerships yet here in Canada
Yes my car is bone stock and not modded but that was not the point of the exercise

Here is a more apples to apples comparison that I made before and posted on another forum. Here is the base W204 model vs the facelifted base W203 model. Both are the cheapest non-sport models.

Saw same white car today and a palladium silver (?) C300 Sport in the service bay. Sat in the C300 and played for a while, even run the engine for a bit. Plastic not as bad as I thought and still has paddy feel. Rear turn signals are red in LED behind the clear lens. Trunk is much deeper than old. But both rear door pull are a bit sticky and speaks to quality issues.
But there are some features lost on W204 compared to W203:
Rear headrests do not fold down.
Easy entry-exit feature only lifts wheel but seat no longer pulls back.
Smart key no longer stores last seat memory nor AC temp settings.

Wow, W204 really is bigger. It looks more beefy, and the side window sills are all slightly higher compared to the W203.
Kinda makes you wonder what the point of making an E is if the C is getting closer and closer in size?
It does look more modern though. I guess sharper angles is "in" now, versus the "smoother" W203. Yeah, that amber sidemarker looks really out of place.
Still no W204 in Vancouver *sigh* Just bought my extended warranty last week, let's see what MB does to this car in 2-3 years. Until then, it's W203 for me.
Does MB go through a "facelift" halfway through the life of each model?

Drex,
I think you can see where Chrysler got the inspiration for the 300C here. Those of us old enough to barely remember the old Green Hornet TV show saw the resemblance right away. Thankfully, the W204 does not look like it should have Kato chauffering it around.

I see the resemblance in this car to the 300C, but the body stylings of the w204 are very similar (just scaled down to a compact sedan).

Ugly!
We've got a W204 at the dealership that I work at and I think it looks ugly. I've got an 06 C230 with some minor work done to it & I was really worried that I'd love the 204. I really don't. I think it looks like a Hyundai mixed with a 3 Series, with some CL mods.
However, as was mentioned before, resale value on the 203 is going to take a big hit.
