C230 HID setting, Auto or Manual?

How do you guys prefer to set your Xenon headlight (OEM)? Auto or Manual?
I switched to Manual because each time I enter garage it switch on, then seconds later after I park I shut it off. I am concerned about the Xenon's lifespan if it goes on and off several times a time. I much prefer it only come on at night but not each time I enter garage.

Your thoughts?

I keep mine in Manual because in Auto, it turns the headlights on and off too often, esp. in parking structures, tunnels, or even a cloudy day.

Enable DRLs and it'll only switch on about twice a day

No choice in Canada, HIDs are always on with the car.

I believe the OEM bulbs are rated for 4000h, which is pretty much more than the life of most cars right?

guys thanks! I am sure the Mercedes HID Xenon is plenty reliable and awesome. I decided to keep my off unless I decide it needs to be on, the only downside is that I sometime forget to turn Xenon on when it is starting to get dark. I am sure either 2000 or 4000 hours of life span is a sufficent number and factory probably tortured these HID through testing.

My real concern is that anything mechanical parts will break, in this case I thing if Xenon (which is high powered through ballast) turned on and off often enough and just like a regular bulb, the bulb will burn out and need to be replace. I am SURE it will be EXPENSIVE, so why let it go on an off when it is not necessary. ALso, I turned off the "easy entry", which the steering wheel automatically moves up when i switch off the ignition, again it's cool to watch but I don't weight 300lbs, i don't really need "easy entry" and I am sure it will be expensive to repair after warranty if it ever breaks. I know, I am paniced, while I enjoy my new C230 a lot I am also very cautious and try to take care of it as much as i can.
