are you serious ??

Steve (MBenzNL) told me that once, and I thought he was kidding,
but many European C-Class owners are actually putting on the US spec bumper strips,
while us here in the USA are crazy about the Euro spec bumper strips without the sidemarkers.

I have my old ones up in the attic. I will climb up there tonight and get you the Part #'s.

Hehe! I've been under that impression too I've seen you guys talking about deleting the side markers and so on.. It may be more clean with no sidemarkers, but after i saw what spinsonic had done to his CLS, i decided i wanted that look too

Really cool with clear sidemarkers and superwhite bulb And it'll make my coupe stand out even more here in Norway

BTW, saprissa, thanks for going through the trouble getting me those part#! Appreciate it!

Cops hassle you for superwhite sidemarkers? Didn't think they cared about things like that in the US A friend of mine lived in Daytona Beach for a while, and he said even the cops had tinted windows all the way.. Up here, that's illegal..

Does anyone know if it's possible to NOT having my fogs lighting up when i turn the steering wheel? I would like to convert the fogs to xenon, but I'm afraid I'll destroy the ballast, since the light kinda fades on and off..?

I think it is possible to de-program the cornering fog lights.

Here in the US, some people have upgraded their car's SAM in order to allow for programming to enable cornering fog lights. So I assume that the feature can be turned off somehow, using the STAR Diagnostic computer hooked up to your car.

Most likely a question that Steve (MBenzNL) can answer for sure.

here ya go:

US C-Coupe bumperstrip (driver's side LEFT): A 203 885 43 21
- orange sidemarker: A 203 820 03 21

US C-Coupe bumperstrip (passenger's side RIGHT): A 203 885 44 21
- orange sidemarker: A 203 820 04 21
- tow-hook cover: A 203 885 03 26

Those bumperstrips, fit the pre-2005 C-Coupes, post-2005 C-Coupes, and the AMG bumper C-Coupes.

For clear sidemarkers and white bulbs, your best bet is an aftermarket auto accessories shop, or eBay.

Hope this helps.

I visited my local dealer today. They couldn't find anything on the part#.. Strange.. Well, maybe I'll find some on ebay or something.

Another thing is that I got them to disable the "turn lights". So, now I'm ready to convert my fogs to xenon

I also picked up a couple of superwhite bulbs for my parking lights. They could've been a tad brighter, but I think it matched my 6000k xenons pretty good!

nope, not strange at all.
I have the same problem here in the USA, when I'm trying to order EUROPEAN Mercedes-Benz parts from the dealership. Even if I have the Part #, it will not show up in their computers because they only have the MB USA spec parts lists.
I assume that in Europe, it is exactly the opposite, where their dealership computers don't carry the US part #'s.

For example, I want to buy the rear hatch cover, EURO VERSION, where the long license plate goes. That is not available in the USA, even if I give them the Part #. They cannot order it.

Let me know if you can't find the bumper strips, as I would be willing to sell you mine. Of course, they would need to be painted to your Coupe's color.
I don't know how much shipping costs to Norway though.

Ah! Thats logical But the strange thing is, a friend of mine with a w210 had visited the same dealer asking about us spec strips for his E.. And they found it, with the US part#.. Well, nevermind that.

Saprissa, how much do u want for your old strips?

I don't know how much Air Mail will cost to Norway, but these weigh very little, and they will be wrapped nicely, so they don't break.

Included are the orange sidemarkers, and the tow-hook cover.

Very nice Now, the big question is what kind of bulb holder will fit the sidemarker. Hopefully I can cut a wedge bulb holder from an old wreck or something.

A friend of mine had led city lights. All you could see was a little white dot in there =/ But i come across some bulbs that looked interesting! Too bad they weren't in stock..

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
LOL! Check the childhood story from Dr. Suess,
"The Sneeches".

Hell, why not sell him yours?
With the dollar in the toilet, you could charge in Euro's.

Oops I scrolled down and saw you already done this.

Nice car CN ! I bet you get great mileage with that diesel.
Whats the performance like? A little on the slow side?
I like having ooomph, but I bet you're getting close to 40mpg.
To heck with hybrids!

And BTW to everyone here, for
$3 and change, you can have access to the Mercedes PN database for a month. Pay an extra 75 cents or something for the worldwide version, which allows you to get pn's for anything, anywhere.

I recently used this to find the pn's associated with the Coupey trailer hitch retrofit. Steve priced it for me....a little on the expensive side.

Also those strips come prepainted, but no matter, I'm sure Carlos's strips at
$100 will come out much cheaper than buying at the dealer.
Now you need the wiring! And the clear sides, which you can buy on ebay.

I noted with interest that your coupe appears to have the grill that came
on my car in 2002, instead of the cheese grater one from 2005 + that we're used to seeing. I yours would look good painted black.

Thanks Yeah, the mileage is pretty good. About 0,7 liters pr. 10km with city driving

It WAS a little on the slow side, but I've had the ECU reprogrammed with software from Kleemann. They promised 165 hp and 370nm. Originally it was 122hp and 270nm

Yeah, buying Carlos' strips will be the cheapest and easiest for me. A friend of mine got his strips from the dealer, and the price was $225 for one strip. And they were not prepainted. Yes, it's VERY expensive up here in Norway

When I bought the car I could choose an Evolution Sportspackage.. Then I would get the grille with the holes that you are using, a little lowering, silver gearknob with shortshift, evolution floor mats. But, since I wanted the 040 Black paint, i couldn't get the sportspackage.

But I didn't care 'bout that. The car is lower now than it would've been with the evo package, and the gear knob and the floor mats doesn't matter to me But I would like that grille though!

Steve or somebody was offering that grill for under a $100 recently....
I think? How much are the EVO floor mats?

If I'm doing the calculations correctly, you're getting 33.68 mpg?

Probably right. I'm not really steady with the whole miles and gallon thing.. Hehe
Don't know how much the evo mats cost. They weren't that cool. Just plain black with Evolution written along the side
