For a C230, you only need one sensor. There is no sensor on the driver side, only on the passenger side.

The sensors come in packs of four. I found this out the hard way (and as such, have three extra packets of sensors)...

The job is not that bad, but if you want to be 100% right about tools you will need an E-20 External Torx Socket. You can get by with a 15mm wrench (it will grip and hold) but the calipers use torx bolts.

In 2005 Mercedes was being thrifty only one sensor on the front right, there was no darn dipstick either.

2006 is a whole new world, two sensors and a dipstick! Bet it cost 'em close to one euro to supply all that.

you can buy 1 at a time from the dealer

My C350 only has 1 sensor on the passenger's side - 1 front passenger, 1 rear passenger.
