I believe the Kleemann alloy pulley is $899. The ASP is what I have and it's $350. Most forum members have the ASP pulley.

Search around, there are installation instructions, how to buy and all that stuff floating around.

I've had it for about 5 month/5,000 miles, no problems. The ASP alloy pulley was generally available before the Kleemann alloy pulley therefore more people have the ASP on the forums. I believe there are about a dozen people just on this forum that have it which is probably more than all other brands combined. If you want one call Lee at ASPRacing.com, takes about a month as each one is made to order. Remember, this will only work on the 2.3L and 2.0L Mercedes, not the new 1.8L motors.

What city is your dealership in? Are you in service or sales?

Then you are in a great position to be first. Send Lee at ASP Racing a brand new S/C pulley and have him make one about 10-20% smaller based on how adventurous you are (the 2.3L pulleys are 19% and the C32 pulleys are about 12%). Then have him send/rent/lend you a pulley installer/extractor to remove the pressed on S/C and swap the S/C pulleys, do a before/after dyno and be the hero of the 1.8L world. The reason you don't want to mess with the crank pulley on that car is because it's single plane and you'll run everything faster and that can't be good. I worked with ASP for the '02 coupe, someone else has to carry the torch into 2003. Don't know of any tuners working on this and it may be years before it's available. Heck, the newer 2.3L engine was available in the C230K/SLK230 since March 2000 and these pulleys started to appear about 6 months ago, if it's the same for the 1.8L you are looking at 2 years before anything is available. It's really worth it, between a new intercooler, the pulley and an intake you could be looking at 250HP, not too shabby.

The S/C pulley will probably sell for about $100, that's about what they charge for the equivalent Pontiac GTP or Ford Lightning s/c pulleys and those cars have larger Eaton blowers on them. Just get one from the parts department, have him make it and return the factory pulley to inventory when he's done. He does great work, does this for many different cars so the risk is fairly small. I would stay conservative at about 10% for starters to see what happens and see how the car reacts to it on the dyno, the pulley can always be made smaller a little at a time until you reach the desired results, just don't have him annodize it until you are done testing, you'll save a bunch of time that way. The beauty of making the s/c pulley a little smaller is the factory belt will still work. Call Lee at (281) 261-5811 (Texas time zone).
