I've driven the current A4 V6 (I think...3.2 is the model designation) and the 203 C350. I would say the 350 felt quicker, but the A4 had an overall better driving dynamic. Also, I was allowed to try out the Quattro system on a prettty wet road. No drama. I didn't get to do a comparo with the 350, but I don't think it would have handled it *nearly* as well.

I also like the Audi interior, except for some small somethings, like the armrest. I believe the A4 is smaller though, at least the rear seats felt nigh unusable.

I also own an A4 quattro. It's a bit modified so I can't compare the two as far as performance, but my 1.8T sure has the kick to it. As far as an all wheel drive car compared to a rear wheel, there is no comparison what so ever. My A4 corners like there's no tomorrow. Here's a pic of my A4

My car did die once. It ended being a stupid ECU relay. Other then that no problems. I guess it's a luck of the straw sometimes.

I used to have an '05 A4 Quattro and my wife still hates me for getting rid of it. I think the Audi corners much better, it's more solid and overall better build. Shut the door or actually the trunk of the Audi and then do the same on the Benz and tell me the difference that you notice. The only downfall was its interior. I like the mercedes interior because it combines the luxury and sporty feel to it where as the Audi seems ugh....I can't pinpoint it. Btw, there is a huge difference (better) between the newer Audi and the one pictured above (which I had as well).

BTW, I only got rid of it because I had to drive 2 1/2 hours to get it serviced from where I'm located. But I do miss it!

I'm not a fan of the new A4's interior or their six speed, but other than that the car is solid.

ive owned an a4 1.8t auto and own a TT 1.8t quattro. in comparison to the benz, the handing is downright awesome. the automatic is pretty drab, but the 5 speed is much better. the engine pulls strong on the 1.8ts but the manual tranny on the benz is better than the audi. maintainance on the audi is alot cheaper in my experience, but watch out for the timing belts after 60k miles, a broken one can lead to an engine rebuild....

i've got an 02 audi a4 1.8t quattro. its a nice car, handles very well, interior is great (compared to bmw).

the quattro is awesome, goes through snow easily. i got over 100,000 km.. still going strong

the c230 is nice... but they're so common. and it drove ok/

I find the 1.8T engine a bit rough and no where as smooth as my 1.8kompressor. The Audi is down on both HP and torque.

The audi engine or is it a VW, shows up in Golfs, Jetta's and Bugs, hmmm why am I paying 2x to get a car with the same engine as the upgraded Golf???

To me an Audi is a poor man's BMW

Thanks for the replies but what I dont understand is are they all AWD or just the quattro? As for speed ive been doing research and im sure a modded A4 would demolish mostly any modded c230 out there. with a chip they can do 0-60 in mid 6's to real low 7s?

Thats correct! If you get a chip or the newer ones can just be reprogrammed the power increase by that alone is unreal!!!

Also did they replace the 1.8t with the 2.0t? Cause I found a good deal on a 2006 2.0t FWD manual. It has 12k miles on the clock selling for 24,995. Still has warranty and everything. Is this this worth having over my 2006 auto c230? I want best of both worlds power and luxury.

I actually think a 2.0t A4 6spd can take a c350 if its chipped, exhaust and a little weight removed , and yes the B7 s line is dead sexy.

I picked up an '07 A4 2.0T S-Line in Feb. Great car so far but I only have 7500 miles on it. Only repair so far was a Bluetooth module replacement. Oh and I did get it chipped by APR -- the difference is night and day (I have the DSG/S-tronic transmission). Feels extremely stable in foul weather driving.

my brother has a 01' A6 with the 2.7 twin turbo the car is pretty quick but so far it has not been very reliable... water pump, signals, window motors, coolant leak, brakes squeaking and a few others problems have occured. The quattro is sick on the car though i knew after driving it i would want a AWD for the winter that is why i bought the C in 4matic b/c i wanted a benz but also wanted AWD.

g luck

I was about to end up with the Audi A4. The only reason I didn't was:
1. Feels A TON thinner (louder in-cabin etc)
2. Steering is super touchy
3. Suspension feels weird

wouldn't trade your car for 06 2.0 T, unless you looking for some power and that will be the car for you, cause it can be modded easily, but ur c230 interior looks much better than the A4.
Handeling wise, if you get quattros, it will handel better than c230.
I've drove both A4, 1.8t and 3.0, comapre to my c320, I just think my C320 is more solid.

good luck
