Washer resevoir
Ok...so I was out of washer fluid fluid...the multi-function display said so.
So I open the hood, pop the lid and start adding fluid..and it comes pouring out of the bottom of the bumper. I take the 4 clips and the two screws out to remove the splash guard below the bumper, and reach up behind the resevoir....there's a 6 mm hole that looks like something should fit into it.
The sensor is attached, the hoses for the windsheild and headlamp washers are intact and connected. Am I missing something.... or is there a rubber plug that fits in it?

Out Of Control!!
If my car were working right now, I'd take a look.
Logically, a drain plug that came off sounds like a definite possibility.

it is a rubber washer that should be there. I had the same problem but like you I did not investigate the problem instead I assumed there was a crack and I bought another reservoir and now I have a spare one.

Dealer parts guy insisted that it's the "rear washer connection grommet" but failed to find a part number. All he could locate was a part number for the rear washer connector hose...$23.87
I'm guessing that's for the wagon.
So a $0.19 cent part at Pep-Boys fixed it.

The piece I used was a cone shaped rubber plug from PepBoys. Thy have sets of plugs like this in generic blister packs marked H.E.L.P. - 10 assorted plugs for $1.89.

Nice work on that DIY repair. When I'm faced with no alternative, I'll go to Pep Boys to get lubricants and other consumables for my worktruck. When I needed a transmission pan gasket for the GMC, they couldn't ensure I'd receive the right part unless I could confirm it had A/C and cruise. LOL!
Mention M-B to the guy at the parts counter and he'll somehow become even less engaged. H.E.L.P parts FTW!
