AMG wheel choose help!???
Hi all,
I'm planning to upgrade my 2005 evolution (C7 wheels) to AMG wheels, the question is wich ones, I'm planing this for 3 years now! LOL and now is the time, but so much time watching wheels that I'm confused wich ones I like the most!!
Prices are almost the same, so that is not the question...
PS: My coupe, for who don't know it, is silver and have the complete AMG styling and brakes...
1-First I preffered the AMG typ III 17" because of the cheaper tyres and confort ride:
2-Second I was watching the AMG type III but in 18" I like it sooo much and a bit rare to see in the SC... classic and sporty...
3-Now I was looking on the sportier AMG typ IV in 18", they give the car a sportier look, but more conventional to see on the roads...

Oh geez, an X19 head in Mercedes sig.
Any skin left on your knuckles E?
I had my head off 3 times, due to blown gaskets, which were due to
overheating, due to belt breaking, due to the mechanic being a nimrod, and putting on one that was too small...which blew again 5K miles later when the water pump went bad from the same too tight belt.
Never let a mechanic touch it again.
Lesson: Change the water pump when you put it back together.
And of course new belts, and while you're in there, send out the alt for a rebuild to an auto electrics shops, put new brushes in.
Then all you gotta do is retorque the head after 500 miles, and make sure it doesn't rattle loose.
You're gonna need the special spagetti wrenches, which are no longer available. I got the club I was in to buy the last set I ever saw available.
What fun!

Ha, well it's not so common on coupes here, since they weren't offered as part of a package like the C7 (evolution) package here in the states, but yes, as shown from the brochure i posted they were offered in Europe in the AMG package. You lucky dogs.

Sorry to jijack this thread Gaix.
I have now put about 200 miles on the rebuilt engine. New Big Valve Head, balanced and blueprinted injectors. That little car is so choice to drive. No guts at all, but I think I can get up to say 90 RWHP. Right now, I'd be happy to see 60.
I'm planning on parking the Mercedes and developing the Fiat to get those ponies I covet so much.

I voted for the AMG Style III wheels in 18", but I agree with emrliquidlife that the older AMG Style III 18" look nice. I have those on my coupe, and I think they look much better than the new style. But, they also aren't very common here so I don't have to worry about seeing them all over.
